Journal ArticleDOI
Catalytic C−C Bond Activation in Biphenylene and Cyclotrimerization of Alkynes: Increased Reactivity of P,N- versus P,P-Substituted Nickel Complexes
TL;DR: In this paper, the donor-stabilized Ni(COD)2 with the bidentate hybrid ligand 2CH2CH2NMe2 (PN) and PhC⋮CR (R = Ph, tBu, CF3, C ⋮CPh) showed a reduced catalytic activity toward phenanthrene formation or cyclotrimerization reactions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mechanism of Vinylic and Allylic Carbon−Fluorine Bond Activation of Non-Perfluorinated Olefins Using Cp*2ZrH2
TL;DR: Experimental evidence suggests that an insertion/beta-fluoride elimination mechanism is occurring and a deuterium labeling study revealed that more than one olefin-dihydride complex is likely to exist prior to Olefin insertion.
Journal ArticleDOI
C−C Activation in Biphenylene. Synthesis, Structure, and Reactivity of (C5Me5)2M2(2,2‘-biphenyl) (M = Rh, Co)
TL;DR: In this article, the energy barrier for interconversion of the two (C5Me5) fragments was calculated to be ΔG⧧ (350 K) = 16.8 kcal/mol and ΔG∆Ω(248 K) for the rhodium and cobalt complexes, respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI
Additive-Free Cobalt-Catalyzed Hydrogenation of Esters to Alcohols
TL;DR: An additive-free catalytic system for hydrogenation of carboxylic acid esters to alcohols with a well-defined cobalt pincer catalyst precursor was reported in this article.
