Journal ArticleDOI
Squamous cell dysplasia and carcinoma in situ of the cervix and vagina after prenatal exposure to diethylstilbestrol.
Satnley J. Robboy,Pacita Keh,Rita J. Nickerson,Enida K. Helmanis,Jaime Prat,Wanda M. Szyfelbein,Priscilla D. Taft,Ann B. Barnes,Robert E. Scully,William R. Welch +9 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that both cytology and biopsy of abnormal segments of the vagina and cervix remain an integral part of the examination of the DES-exposed female during long-term follow-up studies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Correlates of the preoperative level of CA125 at presentation of ovarian cancer
Daniel W. Cramer,Allison F. Vitonis,William R. Welch,Kathryn L. Terry,Annekathryn Goodman,Bo R. Rueda,Ross S. Berkowitz +6 more
TL;DR: Ovarian tumor features and presence of ascites are key determinants of CA125 at diagnosis, but epidemiologic features such as BMI, parity, prior breast cancer, and history of inflammatory conditions of the genitourinary or gastrointestinal tracts may also play a role.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ultrastructure of 16 cases of clear cell adenocarcinoma of the vagina and cervix in young women.
TL;DR: This study disclosed no difference between 14 tumors that arose in patients with confirmed histories of prenatal exposure to diethylstilbestrol (DES) or dienestrol, and reported cases of clear cell carcinoma in which there were no histories of such exposure.
Journal ArticleDOI
Assessment of a Chemotherapy Response Score (CRS) System for Tubo-Ovarian High-Grade Serous Carcinoma (HGSC).
Helena M Ditzel,Kyle C. Strickland,Kyle C. Strickland,Emily E. Meserve,Elizabeth H. Stover,Panagiotis A. Konstantinopoulos,Ursula A. Matulonis,Michael G. Muto,Joyce F. Liu,Colleen M. Feltmate,Neil S. Horowitz,Ross S. Berkowitz,Mamta Gupta,Jonathan L. Hecht,Douglas I. Lin,Kirsten Marie Jochumsen,William R. Welch,Michelle S. Hirsch,Bradley J. Quade,Kenneth R. Lee,Christopher P. Crum,George L. Mutter,Marisa R. Nucci,Brooke E. Howitt,Brooke E. Howitt +24 more
TL;DR: A 3-tiered CRS system of hemotoxylin and eosin–stained omental deposits can yield prognostic information for HGSC patients receiving neoadjuvant chemotherapy, and web-based training improved reproducibility but did not alter determination of clinical outcomes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pinin interacts with C-terminal binding proteins for RNA alternative splicing and epithelial cell identity of human ovarian cancer cells.
Yanli Zhang,Jamie Sui-Lam Kwok,Pui-Wah Choi,Minghua Liu,Junzheng Yang,Margit Singh,Shu-Kay Ng,William R. Welch,Michael G. Muto,Stephen Kw Tsui,Stephen P. Sugrue,Ross S. Berkowitz,Shu-Wing Ng +12 more
TL;DR: Pinin and CtBP are oncotargets that closely interact with each other to regulate transcription and pre-mRNA alternative splicing and promote cell adhesion and other epithelial characteristics of ovarian cancer cells.
