Journal ArticleDOI

How do chemotherapeutic agents damage the ovary

TL;DR: It is likely that different chemotherapeutic drugs act through a range of mechanisms and on different target cells, and more research into the cellular mechanisms underpinning chemotherapy-induced follicle loss could lead to the generation of treatments specifically designed to prevent POF.
Journal ArticleDOI

Depletion of ovarian reserve in young women after treatment for cancer in childhood: detection by anti‐Müllerian hormone, inhibin B and ovarian ultrasound

TL;DR: Both hormonal and biophysical evidence of partial loss of the ovarian reserve in young cancer survivors was detected both in women with normal menstrual cycles and during COCP administration.
Journal ArticleDOI

Endobronchial and endoscopic ultrasound-guided real-time fine-needle aspiration for mediastinal staging.

TL;DR: Endobronschial ultrasound with real-time transbronchial needle aspiration offers improved sensitivity and accuracy for staging of the middle mediastinum, and, combined with endoscopic ultrasound, should allow investigation of the majority of the mediastInum.
Journal ArticleDOI

Human ovarian reserve from conception to the menopause

TL;DR: The best fitting model for the establishment and decline of human NGF is described and the rate of NGF recruitment into growing follicles for all women increases from birth until approximately age 14 years (coinciding with puberty) then decreases towards the menopause.
