Inhibiting Polysulfide Shuttle in Lithium–Sulfur Batteries through Low‐Ion‐Pairing Salts and a Triflamide Solvent
Abhinandan Shyamsunder,Witali Beichel,Petra Klose,Quan Pang,Harald Scherer,Anke Hoffmann,Graham K. Murphy,Ingo Krossing,Linda F. Nazar +8 more
TL;DR: The first new electrolyte based on a unique combination of a relatively hydrophobic sulfonamide solvent and a low ion-pairing salt, which inhibits the polysulfide shuttle, is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Temperature dependence of the viscosity and conductivity of mildly functionalized and non-functionalized [Tf2N](-) ionic liquids.
Safak Bulut,Philipp Eiden,Witali Beichel,John M. Slattery,Tom Beyersdorff,Thomas J. S. Schubert,Ingo Krossing +6 more
TL;DR: A series of bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide ionic liquids (ILs) with classical as well as mildly functionalized cations was prepared and their viscosities and conductivities were determined as a function of the temperature.
Journal ArticleDOI
Is universal, simple melting point prediction possible?
Ulrich Preiss,Ulrich Preiss,Witali Beichel,Anna M. T. Erle,Yauheni U. Paulechka,Ingo Krossing +5 more
TL;DR: An investigation of the melting points of 520 organic 1:1 salts is presented and two simple, semiempirical, five- and nine-parameter schemes with easy-to-calculate quantities are developed, suitable for high-throughput computational screening of substances in the context of "computer-aided synthesis".
Journal ArticleDOI
Free volume in ionic liquids: a connection of experimentally accessible observables from PALS and PVT experiments with the molecular structure from XRD data
Witali Beichel,Yang Yu,Guenter Dlubek,Reinhard Krause-Rehberg,J. Pionteck,Dirk Pfefferkorn,Safak Bulut,Dana Bejan,Christian Friedrich,Ingo Krossing +9 more
TL;DR: Empirical CT type plots of viscosity and electrical conductivity showed a systematic increase in the critical free volume with molecular size, justified in terms of the Cohen-Turnbull (CT) free volume theory.
Journal ArticleDOI
Free volume in imidazolium triflimide ([C3MIM][NTf2]) ionic liquid from positron lifetime: amorphous, crystalline, and liquid states.
G. Dlubek,Yang Yu,Reinhard Krause-Rehberg,Witali Beichel,Safak Bulut,N. V. Pogodina,Ingo Krossing,Ch. Friedrich +7 more
TL;DR: Positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy is used to study the ionic liquid 1-methyl-3-propylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide and it is shown that the viscosity follows perfectly the Cohen-Turnbull free volume theory when using the free volume determined.
