Magnetic refrigeration—towards room-temperature applications

TL;DR: In this paper, a new class of magnetic refrigerant materials for room-temperature applications is proposed, which are manganese-iron-phosphorus-arsenic (MnFe(P,As)) compounds.
Journal ArticleDOI

Magnetic interactions in R2Fe17-xAlx compounds (R = Ho, Y)

TL;DR: In this article, the temperature and field dependence at 4.2 K of the magnetization of Y2Fe17−xAlx and Ho2Fe 17−xalx (x ≤ 10) compounds has been studied.
Journal ArticleDOI

Magnetic phase transitions, magnetocrystalline anisotropy, and crystal-field interactions in the RFe11Ti series (where R=Y, Pr, Nd, Sm, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, or Tm).

TL;DR: A systematic investigation of the intrinsic magnetic properties of RFe11Ti compounds with R=Y, Pr, Nd, Sm, Gd, Th, Dy, Ho, Er, and Tm has been performed by means of ac susceptibility measurements, singular-point-detection techniques, and high-field magnetization measurements.
Journal ArticleDOI

Magnetic refrigeration near room temperature with Fe2P-based compounds

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of substitutions into the pnictide sublattice of the alloy MnFeP 0.45 As 0.5 Ge 0.55 has been studied.
Journal ArticleDOI

Magnetic properties and magnetic-entropy change of MnFeP0.5As0.5-xSix(x=0-0.3) compounds

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of Si substitution for As on the magnetic and magnetocaloric properties of MnFeP0.5As0.6 compounds have been investigated, and the maximum magnetic-entropy change observed in this system reaches about 32J∕kgK for a field change from 0to2T for x=0.2, at temperature around 294K.
