TL;DR: In this article, the impact of the Ni/Al ratio on the structure, morphology, ion transport kinetics, interlayer phenomena, and performance of NiAl-LDH supercapacitor electrode materials was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Inhibition of AlF3·3H2O Impurity Formation in Ti3C2Tx MXene Synthesis under a Unique CoFx/HCl Etching Environment
Cody B. Cockreham,Cody B. Cockreham,Xianghui Zhang,Houqian Li,Ellis Hammond-Pereira,Junming Sun,Steven R. Saunders,Yong Wang,Yong Wang,Hongwu Xu,Di Wu +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, transition metal carbides are used for supercapacitors and batteries, and they are shown to have promising potential in a variety of applications, among other applications.
Journal ArticleDOI
A mechanistic study of mesoporous TiO2 nanoparticle negative electrode materials with varying crystallinity for lithium ion batteries
Changjian Deng,Changjian Deng,Changjian Deng,Miu Lun Lau,Chunrong Ma,Paige Skinner,Yuzi Liu,Wenqian Xu,Hua Zhou,Xianghui Zhang,Di Wu,Yadong Yin,Yang Ren,Jorge Perez,Diana Jaramillo,Pete Barnes,Dewen Hou,Michael Dahl,Michael Dahl,Bethany Williford,Chong Zheng,Chong Zheng,Hui Xiong +22 more
TL;DR: In this paper, mesoporous solid spherical nanoparticles with a uniform particle size and varying crystallinity, i.e., amorphous TiO2 (A-TiO2), partially crystalline and fully crystalline (FC)-nodes, were studied to investigate the electrochemical properties of oxide-based nanoscale negative electrodes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Energetic Cost for Being "Redox-Site-Rich" in Pseudocapacitive Energy Storage with Nickel-Aluminum Layered Double Hydroxide Materials.
Xianghui Zhang,Cody B. Cockreham,Cody B. Cockreham,Esra Yılmaz,Esra Yılmaz,Gengnan Li,Nan Li,Su Ha,Liangjie Fu,Jianqi Qi,Hongwu Xu,Di Wu +11 more
TL;DR: Coupling acid solution calorimetry, in situ XRD, and in situ DRIFTS are demonstrated to demonstrate that as the Ni/Al ratio increases, both as-made and dehydrated NiAl-LDH samples are less stable evidenced by their enthalpies of formation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Thermodynamics of Water-Cationic Species-Framework Guest-Host Interactions within Transition Metal Ion-Exchanged Mordenite Relevant to Selective Anaerobic Oxidation of Methane to Methanol.
Xianghui Zhang,Cody B. Cockreham,Cody B. Cockreham,Zhiyang Huang,Hui Sun,Chen Yang,Oscar Marin-Flores,Baodong Wang,Xiaofeng Guo,Su Ha,Hongwu Xu,Di Wu +11 more
TL;DR: This study underscores the importance of manipulating the oxidation state and coordination chemistry of guest species by fine-tuning the partial pressure of water as a strategy for rational design, synthesis and modification of catalysts.
