Low-temperature hydrogen production from water and methanol using Pt/α-MoC catalysts
Lili Lin,Wu Zhou,Rui Gao,Siyu Yao,Xiao Zhang,Wenqian Xu,Shijian Zheng,Zheng Jiang,Qiaolin Yu,Yong-Wang Li,Chuan Shi,Xiaodong Wen,Ding Ma +12 more
TL;DR: It is reported that platinum atomically dispersed on α-molybdenum carbide (α-MoC) enables low-temperature (150–190 degrees Celsius), base-free hydrogen production through APRM, with an average turnover frequency reaching 18,046 moles of hydrogen per mole of platinum per hour.
Journal ArticleDOI
Highly active and durable nanostructured molybdenum carbide electrocatalysts for hydrogen production
Wei-Fu Chen,Chiu Hui Wang,Kotaro Sasaki,Nebojsa Marinkovic,Wenqian Xu,James T. Muckerman,Y. Zhu,Radoslav R. Adzic +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, molybdenum carbide (β-Mo2C) nanoparticles are prepared by in situ carburization of ammonium molydate on carbon nanotubes and XC-72R carbon black without using any gaseous carbon source.
Journal ArticleDOI
Atomic-layered Au clusters on α-MoC as catalysts for the low-temperature water-gas shift reaction
Siyu Yao,Xiao Zhang,Wu Zhou,Wu Zhou,Rui Gao,Wenqian Xu,Yifan Ye,Lili Lin,Xiaodong Wen,Ping Liu,Bingbing Chen,Ethan J. Crumlin,Jinghua Guo,Zhijun Zuo,Weizhen Li,Jinglin Xie,Li Lu,Christopher J. Kiely,Lin Gu,Chuan Shi,José A. Rodriguez,Ding Ma +21 more
TL;DR: A catalyst composed of layered gold clusters on molybdenum carbide (MoC) nanoparticles to convert CO through its reaction with water into H2 and CO2 at temperatures as low as 150°C is developed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ultra-selective high-flux membranes from directly synthesized zeolite nanosheets
Mi Young Jeon,Donghun Kim,Prashant Kumar,Pyung Soo Lee,Neel Rangnekar,Peng Bai,Meera Shete,Bahman Elyassi,Han Seung Lee,Katabathini Narasimharao,Sulaiman Nasir Basahel,Shaeel A. Al-Thabaiti,Wenqian Xu,Hong Je Cho,Evgenii O. Fetisov,Raghuram Thyagarajan,Robert F. DeJaco,Wei Fan,K. Andre Mkhoyan,J. Ilja Siepmann,Michael Tsapatsis +20 more
TL;DR: A nanocrystal-seeded growth method triggered by a single rotational intergrowth is used to synthesize high-aspect-ratio MFI nanosheets with a thickness of 5 nanometres (2.5 unit cells), which allow the fabrication of thin and defect-free coatings that effectively cover porous substrates.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of Chloride Anions on the Synthesis and Enhanced Catalytic Activity of Silver Nanocoral Electrodes for CO2 Electroreduction
TL;DR: In this article, a high surface-area Ag nanocoral catalyst, fabricated by an oxidation-reduction method in the presence of chloride anions in an aqueous medium, was reported for the electroreduction of CO2 to CO with a current efficiency of 95% at the low overpotential of 0.37 V and the current density of 2 mA cm-2.
