Journal ArticleDOI
Paenibacillus sp. strain E18 bifunctional xylanase-glucanase with a single catalytic domain.
Pengjun Shi,Jian Tian,Tiezheng Yuan,Xin Liu,Huoqing Huang,Yingguo Bai,Peilong Yang,Xiaoyan Chen,Ningfeng Wu,Bin Yao +9 more
TL;DR: A new bifunctional xylanase (XynBE18) produced by Paenibacillus sp.
Journal ArticleDOI
Distinct actions by Paenibacillus sp. strain E18 α-L-arabinofuranosidases and xylanase in xylan degradation.
Pengjun Shi,Xiaoyan Chen,Kun Meng,Huoqing Huang,Yingguo Bai,Huiying Luo,Peilong Yang,Bin Yao +7 more
TL;DR: Synergy may arise as the result of removal ofArabinose residues from xylans by α-l-arabinofuranosidases, which eliminates steric hindrance caused by the arabinose side chains and which allows xylanases to then degrade the xylan backbone, producing short xylooligosaccharides.
Journal ArticleDOI
High-level expression of a novel Penicillium endo-1,3(4)-β-d-glucanase with high specific activity in Pichia pastoris
Xiaoyan Chen,Kun Meng,Pengjun Shi,Yingguo Bai,Huiying Luo,Huoqing Huang,Tiezheng Yuan,Peilong Yang,Bin Yao +8 more
TL;DR: The purified recombinant Bgl16C1 had higher specific activity toward barley β-glucan than all known glucanases and also showed activity against lichenan and laminarin and exhibited good stability over a broad acid and alkaline pH range.
Journal ArticleDOI
A new α-galactosidase from symbiotic Flavobacterium sp. TN17 reveals four residues essential for α-galactosidase activity of gastrointestinal bacteria
Junpei Zhou,Pengjun Shi,Huoqing Huang,Yanan Cao,Kun Meng,Peilong Yang,Rui Zhang,Xiaoyan Chen,Bin Yao +8 more
TL;DR: The α-galactosidase gene, galA17, was cloned from Flavobacterium sp.
