Journal ArticleDOI
The Magnaporthe oryzae avirulence gene AvrPiz-t encodes a predicted secreted protein that triggers the immunity in rice mediated by the blast resistance gene Piz-t.
Wei Li,Baohua Wang,Jun Wu,Guodong Lu,Yajun Hu,Xing Zhang,Zhengguang Zhang,Qiang Zhao,Qi Feng,Hongyan Zhang,Zhengyi Wang,Guo-Liang Wang,Bin Han,Zonghua Wang,Bo Zhou +14 more
TL;DR: The AvrPiz-t gene encodes a 108-amino-acid predicted secreted protein with unknown function and no homologues in M. oryzae or in other sequenced fungi, and is present in the virulent isolate GUY11 but contains a Pot3 insertion at a position 462 bp upstream from the start codon.
Journal ArticleDOI
First cloning and characterization of two functional aquaporin genes from an arbuscular mycorrhizal fungus Glomus intraradices.
TL;DR: The authors' data strongly support potential water transport via AMF to host plants, which leads to a better understanding of the important role of AMF in plant drought tolerance.
Journal ArticleDOI
Recent progress and understanding of the molecular mechanisms of the rice–Magnaporthe oryzae interaction
Jinling Liu,Xuejun Wang,Thomas K. Mitchell,Yajun Hu,Xionglun Liu,Liangying Dai,Guo-Liang Wang,Guo-Liang Wang +7 more
TL;DR: The cloning of a total of nine avirulence (Avr) genes in M. oryzae, 13 rice resistance (R) genes and two rice blast quantitative trait loci (QTLs) has provided new insights into the molecular basis of fungal and plant interactions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Plant diversity represents the prevalent determinant of soil fungal community structure across temperate grasslands in northern China
Yongliang Chen,Tianle Xu,Stavros D. Veresoglou,Hang-Wei Hu,Hang-Wei Hu,Zhipeng Hao,Yajun Hu,Lei Liu,Ye Deng,Matthias C. Rillig,Baodong Chen +10 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that the regional-scale distribution pattern of soil fungal communities is predominantly mediated by plant community composition, and also by abiotic factors and geographical distance in arid and semi-arid temperate grasslands.
Journal ArticleDOI
Rare taxa of alkaline phosphomonoesterase-harboring microorganisms mediate soil phosphorus mineralization
Xiaomeng Wei,Yajun Hu,Bahar S. Razavi,Juan Zhou,Jianlin Shen,Paolo Nannipieri,Jinshui Wu,Tida Ge +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the role of phoD gene expression in the regulation of soil P turnover is largely unknown due to the complex coupling of physiochemical and biological processes in the P cycle, especially in paddy field.
