Journal ArticleDOI

Curcumin induces autophagy to protect vascular endothelial cell survival from oxidative stress damage

TL;DR: Curcumin has the potential for use as an autophagic-related antioxidant for prevention and treatment of oxidative stress, and a novel role for curcumin in inducing a beneficial form of autophagy in HUVECs is suggested, which may be a potential multitargeted therapeutic avenue for the treatment of antioxidant-related cardiovascular diseases.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ginsenoside Rg3 attenuates cell migration via inhibition of aquaporin 1 expression in PC-3M prostate cancer cells.

TL;DR: It is concluded that Rg3 effectively suppresses migration of PC-3M cells by down-regulating AQP1 expression through p38 MAPK pathway and some transcription factors acting on the AQP 1 promoter.
Journal ArticleDOI

Curcumin inhibits tumor proliferation induced by neutrophil elastase through the upregulation of α1-antitrypsin in lung cancer

TL;DR: The results suggest that neutrophil elastase and α1‐antitrypsin play important roles in modulating lung tumor proliferation in inflammatory microenvironment and curcumin inhibits neutrophIL elastases‐induced tumor proliferation via upregulating α1-antitypsin expression in vitro and in vivo.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ganoderma lucidum polysaccharide accelerates refractory wound healing by inhibition of mitochondrial oxidative stress in type 1 diabetes.

TL;DR: Gl-PS rescued the delayed wound healing and improved wound angiogenesis in STZ-induced type 1 diabetic mice, at least in part, by suppression of cutaneous MnSOD nitration, p66Shc and mitochondrial oxidative stress.
Journal ArticleDOI

Opposite angiogenic outcome of curcumin against ischemia and Lewis lung cancer models: in silico, in vitro and in vivo studies.

TL;DR: Curcumin had the promise as a new treatment modality for both ischemic conditions and lung cancer simultaneously in the clinic through regulation of the HIF1α/mTOR/VEGF/VEGFR cascade oppositely.
