Numerical investigation of a novel micro combustor with double-cavity for micro-thermophotovoltaic system

TL;DR: In this article, a double-cavity micro combustor is proposed for a micro-TPV system and the thermal performance of the double cavity combustor was numerically investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Numerical study on a multiple-channel micro combustor for a micro-thermophotovoltaic system

TL;DR: In this article, a multiple-channel micro combustor for a micro-TPV system was proposed, and a three-dimensional computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model with a skeletal reaction mechanism embedded was established for premixed hydrogen/air combustion in the micro combustors.
Journal ArticleDOI

The inhibiting effects of sodium carbonate on coal dust deflagration based on thermal methods

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors investigated the effects of NaHCO3 on coal dust explosion by employing a simultaneous thermal analyzer and a standard 20-L spherical chamber, and the results demonstrated that the thermal decomposition temperature of coal dust was increased and the thermal deformation rate, maximum heat flow, and heat release were decreased after the addition of NaHCO3.
Journal ArticleDOI

Tailored non-imaging secondary reflectors designed for solar concentration systems

TL;DR: In this article, non-imaging secondary (NIS) reflectors comprised of concave and convex shapes based on differential equations are proposed for the usage of solar concentration systems, Ray tracing technique is adopted in the estimation of the concentrated irradiance on the receiver.
Journal ArticleDOI

Numerical simulation of white double-layer coating with different submicron particles on the spectral reflectance

TL;DR: In this article, a numerical study was performed to design double-layer spectral selective coating with different submicron particles to achieve better performance both in thermal and aesthetic aspects, and the results showed that an optimized double layer coating with particles should be the one with an appropriate particle diameter, volume fraction and the black substrate.
