The evolution and pathogenic mechanisms of the rice sheath blight pathogen

TL;DR: The draft genome sequence of the rice sheath blight disease pathogen, R. solani AG1 IA, is assembled using next-generation Illumina Genome Analyser sequencing technologies and reveals the exclusive expression patterns of the pathogenic determinants during host infection.
Journal ArticleDOI

Characterization of cry2-type genes of bacillus thuringiensis strains from soilisolated of sichuan basin, china.

TL;DR: The diversity and particularity of cry2-type gene resources from Bacillus thuringiensis strains in Sichuan basin revealed a wide range of insecticidal spectrum toxic to Aedes aegypti and Pieris rapae Linnaeus, 1758 (Lepidoptera).
Journal ArticleDOI

Highly pathogenic coronavirus N protein aggravates inflammation by MASP-2-mediated lectin complement pathway overactivation

TL;DR: In this article , the N proteins of highly pathogenic human coronaviruses, including severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV), middle east respiratory syndrome (MERS)-CoV and SARS -CoV-2 were found to bind MASP-2, a key serine protease in the lectin pathway of complement activation, resulting in excessive complement activation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Integrative transcriptome analysis discloses the molecular basis of a heterogeneous fungal phytopathogen complex, Rhizoctonia solani AG-1 subgroups

TL;DR: Identification of likely pathogenic factors including allergen protein homologues, oxidative phosphorylation and ethylene biosynthesis pathways, and diversification of polysaccharide monooxygenases provides molecular insight into key genomic components that play a role in R. solani pathogenesis.
Journal ArticleDOI

The influence of nutrient and environmental factors on mycelium growth and conidium of false smut Villosiclava virens

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined the effect of the culture medium, carbon and nitrogen source, temperature, pH, water potential and light on mycelial growth and the effects of temperature and wetness duration on conidial germination, and identified the conidia lethal temperature.
