Journal ArticleDOI
Extremely-low-threshold and high-temperature operation in a photopumped ZnSe/ZnSSe blue laser
TL;DR: In this paper, a ZnSe/ZnSSe blue semiconductor laser was demonstrated to show very low threshold by direct photopumping of the active layer, which is equivalent to the current density of 3.6 kA/cm2.
Journal ArticleDOI
High Output Power (>20 W) and High Quantum Efficiency in a Photopumped ZnSe/ZnSSe Blue Laser Operating at Room Temperature
TL;DR: In this paper, a photopumped ZnSe/ZnSSe blue laser operating at room temperature with high output power of 24 W was observed, attributed mainly to the improved waveguiding structure verified from the far-field measurement.
Journal ArticleDOI
Near-room-temperature photopumped blue lasers in ZnSxSe1-x/ZnSe multilayer structures
TL;DR: In this paper, photopumped blue laser oscillation was achieved up to near room temperature (280 K) in a ZnS0.18Se0.82/ZnSe multilayer structure grown by MOVPE.
Journal ArticleDOI
Optical waveguides on silicon chips
Shin Yokoyama,Takahiko Nagata,Yasuhide Kuroda,Toshiki Doi,Tohru Namba,Kouji Miyake,Takahiro Miyamoto,Seiichi Miyazaki,Mitsumasa Koyanagi,Masataka Hirose +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the propagation loss of ridge type waveguides has been investigated using low-pressure chemical vapor deposition (CVD) at 750°C and remote plasma CVD at 300°C for the deposition of core materials.
Journal ArticleDOI
High-Efficiency Micromirrors and Branched Optical Waveguides on Si Chips.
Tohru Namba,Akihito Uehara,Takeshi Doi,Takahiko Nagata,Yasuhide Kuroda,Seiichi Miyazaki,Kentaro Shibahara,Shin Yokoyama,Atsushi Iwata,Masataka Hirose +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors developed high efficiency compact mirrors and branched waveguides which can be integrated on LSI chips and achieved a reflectivity of 81% for a double-reflection micromirror with a corner radius of 34 µm.
