Effects of Extracranial–Intracranial Bypass for Patients With Hemorrhagic Moyamoya Disease: Results of the Japan Adult Moyamoya Trial
Susumu Miyamoto,Takashi Yoshimoto,Nobuo Hashimoto,Yasushi Okada,Ichiro Tsuji,Teiji Tominaga,Jyoji Nakagawara,Jun C. Takahashi,Keisuke Yamada,Yasutake Tomata,Tsuguya Fukui,Yasuo Fukuuchi,Takashi Ohmoto,Yasuo Kuwabara,Izumi Nagata,Junichi Ono,Toshio Machida,Ryuji Sakakibara,Kanji Yamane,Shinji Okita,Toru Iwama,Yasuhiko Kaku,Nobuhito Saito,Hidenao Fukuyama,Kiyohiro Houkin,Satoshi Kuroda,Ichiro Yabe,Fumio Moriwaka,Akira Ogawa,Kuniaki Ogasawara,Kenji Yoshida,Kiyotaka Fujii,Masaru Yamada,Kimitoshi Sato,Tsugio Akutsu,Sen Yamagata,Shigekazu Takeuchi,Kentaro Hayashi,Nobutaka Horie,Kazuo Yamada,Toshiaki Osato,Toshiichi Watanabe,Kaori Honjo,Kazuya Sako,Hiroyuki Nakase,Shoichiro Kawaguchi,Fumihiko Nisimura,Junichi Yamao,Hiroaki Naritomi,Tooru Inoue,Hiroshi Abe,Akifumi Suzuki,Tatsuya Ishikawa,Yoshinori Akiyama,Toshihiko Suenaga,Miki Fujimura,Shinji Nagahiro,Masaaki Uno,Kyoko Nishi,Junichiro Satomi,Yoshikazu Okada,Akiji Kawashima,Kohji Yamaguchi,Yukiko Tsutsumi +63 more
TL;DR: Although statistically marginal, Kaplan–Meier analysis revealed the significant difference between surgical and nonsurgical group, suggesting the preventive effect of direct bypass against rebleeding.
Journal ArticleDOI
FDG-PET in infectious lesions: The detection and assessment of lesion activity
Yuichi Ichiya,Yasuo Kuwabara,Masayuki Sasaki,Tsuyoshi Yoshida,Y. Akashi,Sadayuki Murayama,Katsumasa Nakamura,Toshimitsu Fukumura,Kouji Masuda +8 more
TL;DR: The results indicated that FDG-PET is clinically useful in the detection of the infection of miscellaneous microorganisms as well as in the assessment of lesion activity.
Journal ArticleDOI
High [18F]-fluorodeoxyglucose uptake in abdominal abscesses: a PET study.
Takashi Tahara,Yuichi Ichiya,Yasuo Kuwabara,Makoto Otsuka,Yoshinori Miyake,Ranjan Gunasekera,Kouji Masuda +6 more
TL;DR: Two cases of abdominal abscess displaying high uptake of [18F]fluorodeoxyglycose (FDG) by positron emission tomography (PET) are reported.
Journal ArticleDOI
Database of normal human cerebral blood flow, cerebral blood volume, cerebral oxygen extraction fraction and cerebral metabolic rate of oxygen measured by positron emission tomography with 15O-labelled carbon dioxide or water, carbon monoxide and oxygen: a multicentre study in Japan
Hiroshi Ito,Iwao Kanno,Chietsugu Kato,Toshiaki Sasaki,Kenji Ishii,Yasuomi Ouchi,Akihiko Iida,Hidehiko Okazawa,Kohei Hayashida,Naohiro Tsuyuguchi,Kazunari Ishii,Yasuo Kuwabara,Michio Senda +12 more
TL;DR: Significant between-centre variation was observed in CBV, OEF and CMRO2 by one-way analysis of variance, however, the overall inter-individual variation in CBF, CBV and OEF was acceptably small and building a database of normal cerebral haemodynamics obtained by the 15O-PET methods may be practicable.
Journal Article
Assessment of response to cancer therapy using fluorine-18-fluorodeoxyglucose and positron emission tomography
Yuichi Ichiya,Yasuo Kuwabara,Makoto Otsuka,Takashi Tahara,Tomonori Yoshikai,Toshimitsu Fukumura,Ken'ichi Jingu,Kouji Masuda +7 more
TL;DR: FDG-PET has a complementary role in the assessment of therapeutic effects and a decreased FDG uptake did not necessarily indicate a good prognosis.
