Demonstration of all‐optical modulation in a vertical guided‐wave nonlinear coupler
TL;DR: In this article, the performance characteristics of an AlGaAs dual waveguide vertical coupler with a nonlinear GaAs/AlGaAs multiquantum well coupling medium are demonstrated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nonlinear effects in coplanar GaAs/InGaAs strained‐layer superlattice directional couplers
TL;DR: In this article, the performance characteristics of InGaAs/GaAs strained-layer superlattice coplanar ridge-type directional couplers realized by molecular beam epitaxy are reported.
Journal ArticleDOI
Orientation‐dependent phase modulation in InGaAs/GaAs multiquantum well waveguides
TL;DR: In this paper, the electrooptic effect and phase modulation in In0.2 Ga0.8 As/GaAs multiple quantum wells have been experimentally studied for the first time.
Journal ArticleDOI
Characteristics of Y‐Ba‐Cu‐O superconductor films on GaAs with an Al2O3 or AlGaO3 buffer layer
TL;DR: By depositing a buffer layer of Al2O3 on GaAs, this paper was able to laser ablate a superconducting film of Y1Ba2Cu3O7−x overtop.
Journal ArticleDOI
Growth phenomena and characteristics of strained InxGa1-xAs on GaAs
Jagadeesh Pamulapati,Paul R. Berger,Kevin H. Chang,J. E. Oh,Yi Chen,Jasprit Singh,Pallab Bhattacharya,Ronald Gibala +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the molecular beam epitaxial growth, structural and optical properties of InGaAs on GaAs were investigated, focusing first on the initial stages of growth where the growth is expected to be under coherent strain and second on the nature of single and multiple quantum well heterointerfaces.
