Journal ArticleDOI
MicroRNA-330 acts as tumor suppressor and induces apoptosis of prostate cancer cells through E2F1-mediated suppression of Akt phosphorylation
TL;DR: This is the first study to show that E2F1 is negatively regulated by miR-330 and also show that miR -330 induces apoptosis in prostate cancer cells through E1F1-mediated suppression of Akt phosphorylation.
Journal ArticleDOI
MicroRNA-373 (miR-373) post-transcriptionally regulates large tumor suppressor, homolog 2 (LATS2) and stimulates proliferation in human esophageal cancer.
Kuen Haur Lee,Yih Gang Goan,Michael Hsiao,Chien Hsing Lee,Shu Huei Jian,Jen Tai Lin,Yuh Ling Chen,Pei Jung Lu +7 more
TL;DR: It is shown that miR-373 would be a potential oncogene and it participates in the carcinogenesis of human esophageal cancer by suppressing LATS2 expression and this correlation was supported by data collected ex vivo, in which esophagal cancer tissues from esphageal squamous cell carcinoma patients were analyzed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Alpha-actinin 4 is associated with cancer cell motility and is a potential biomarker in non-small cell lung cancer.
Ming Chuan Wang,Ying Hua Chang,Chih Chieh Wu,Yu-Chang Tyan,Yu-Chang Tyan,Hua Chien Chang,Yih Gang Goan,Wu Wei Lai,Pin-Nan Cheng,Pao-Chi Liao +9 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that ACTn4 is associated with lung cancer cell motility, and the level of ACTN4 in cancerous tissue and plasma is related to the presence of lung cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Qualification and Verification of Serological Biomarker Candidates for Lung Adenocarcinoma by Targeted Mass Spectrometry.
Hsin Yi Wu,Yih Gang Goan,Ying Hua Chang,Ying Hua Chang,Yi Fang Yang,Hsiao Jen Chang,Pin-Nan Cheng,Chih Chieh Wu,Victor G. Zgoda,Yu-Ju Chen,Pao-Chi Liao +10 more
TL;DR: The results highlighted several possible markers for lung adenocarcinoma, and the proposed protein panels require further validation in a larger cohort to evaluate their potential use in clinical applications or development of therapeutics.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pin1 positively affects tumorigenesis of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma and correlates with poor survival of patients
Forn Chia Lin,Yu Cheng Lee,Yih Gang Goan,Chen Hsun Tsai,Yun Chin Yao,Hui Chuan Cheng,Wu Wei Lai,Yi Ching Wang,Bor Shyang Sheu,Pei Jung Lu +9 more
TL;DR: Results indicated that targeting Pin1 pathway could represent a potential modality for treating ESCC and that high Pin1 expression was associated with advanced stage and poor prognosis of ESCC.
