Journal ArticleDOI
Microsatellite polymorphism in promoter of heme oxygenase-1 gene is associated with susceptibility to coronary artery disease in type 2 diabetic patients
Ying Hwa Chen,Shing Jong Lin,Ming Wei Lin,Hui Ling Tsai,San San Kuo,Jaw Wen Chen,Min Ji Charng,Tao Cheng Wu,Lung Ching Chen,Philip Yu-An Ding,Wen-Harn Pan,Yuh-Shan Jou,Lee-Young Chau +12 more
TL;DR: Results imply that the length polymorphism in the HO-1 gene promoter modulate the transcription of the gene in vascular cells, suggesting type 2 diabetics carrying longer (GT)n repeats might have higher oxidative stress and increased susceptibility to the development of CAD.
Journal ArticleDOI
Systemic immune‐inflammation index (SII) predicted clinical outcome in patients with coronary artery disease
Ya Ling Yang,Cheng Hsueh Wu,Pai Feng Hsu,Su Chan Chen,Shao Sung Huang,Wan Leong Chan,Shing Jong Lin,Chia Yu Chou,Jaw Wen Chen,Ju Pin Pan,Min Ji Charng,Ying Hwa Chen,Tao Cheng Wu,Tse Min Lu,Po Hsun Huang,Hao Min Cheng,Chin Chou Huang,Chin Chou Huang,Shih Hsien Sung,Yenn Jiang Lin,Hsin Bang Leu +20 more
TL;DR: This study examines the predictive value of a novel systemic immune‐inflammation index (SII, platelet × neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio) in coronary artery disease patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Heme oxygenase-1 gene promotor microsatellite polymorphism is associated with angiographic restenosis after coronary stenting
Ying Hwa Chen,Lee-Young Chau,Ming Wei Lin,Lung Ching Chen,Ming Hui Yo,Jaw Wen Chen,Shing Jong Lin +6 more
TL;DR: Findings suggest the genetic contribution to stent restenosis and support the notion that the long dinucleotide GT repeat in promotor region may interfere with HO-1 gene transcription, leading to decreased vascular protection upon injury.
Journal ArticleDOI
Serum Bilirubin and Ferritin Levels Link Heme Oxygenase-1 Gene Promoter Polymorphism and Susceptibility to Coronary Artery Disease in Diabetic Patients
TL;DR: Length polymorphism in the HO-1 gene promoter is correlated with susceptibility to CAD in diabetic patients, and this effect might be conveyed through its influence on serum bilirubin and ferritin.
Journal ArticleDOI
Estimation of central systolic blood pressure using an oscillometric blood pressure monitor.
Hao Min Cheng,Kang Ling Wang,Kang Ling Wang,Ying Hwa Chen,Ying Hwa Chen,Shing Jong Lin,Shing Jong Lin,Lung Ching Chen,Lung Ching Chen,Shih Hsien Sung,Shih Hsien Sung,Philip Yu-An Ding,Philip Yu-An Ding,Wen Chung Yu,Wen Chung Yu,Jaw Wen Chen,Jaw Wen Chen,Chen Huan Chen,Chen Huan Chen +18 more
TL;DR: The results indicate that central aortic systolic blood pressure could be estimated by analysis of the noninvasive brachial pressure wave alone from an oscillometric blood pressure monitor.
