Journal ArticleDOI

RIPK3 collaborates with GSDMD to drive tissue injury in lethal polymicrobial sepsis.

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that RIPK3-mediated necroptosis and GSDMD-mediated pyroptosis collaborated to amply inflammatory signaling and enhance tissue injury in the process of sepsis, which may shed new light on two potential targets of combined therapeutic interventions for this highly lethal disorder.
Journal ArticleDOI

GSDME-mediated pyroptosis promotes inflammation and fibrosis in obstructive nephropathy.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors showed that TNFα/Casp3/GSDME-mediated pyroptosis is responsible for the initiation of ureteral obstruction-induced renal tubule injury, which subsequentially contributes to the late stage progression of hydronephrosis, inflammation and fibrosis.
Journal ArticleDOI

GSDMD-dependent neutrophil extracellular traps promote macrophage-to-myofibroblast transition and renal fibrosis in obstructive nephropathy

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors showed that unilateral ureteral obstruction induced Gasdermin D (GSDMD) activation in neutrophils, abundant neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) formation and macrophage-to-myofibroblast transition (MMT) characterized by α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA) expression in macrophages.
Journal ArticleDOI

Risk factors for renal failure and short-term prognosis in patients with spontaneous intracerebral haemorrhage complicated by acute kidney injury.

TL;DR: Findings illustrate that hypernatremia and hyperuricaemia represent potential risk factors for the occurrence of stage 3 AKI in SICH patients and are associated with a poor short-term prognosis in renal recovery.
Journal ArticleDOI

Single-cell sequencing reveals homogeneity and heterogeneity of the cytopathological mechanisms in different etiology-induced AKI

TL;DR: In this article , the authors performed single-cell sequencing (scRNA) on mouse kidneys with five common AKI etiologies (CP-Cisplatin, IRI-Ischemia-reperfusion injury, UUO-Unilateral ureteral obstruction, FA-Folic acid, and SO-Sodium oxalate).
