Characteristics and mechanisms of phosphate adsorption onto basic oxygen furnace slag.

TL;DR: During the adsorption process, the decrease of phosphate concentration in solution accompanied with an increase in pH values and concentrations of NO(3)(-), SO(4)(2-) and Cl(-) suggests that phosphate replaced the functional groups from the surface of BOF slag which infers that ligand exchange is the dominating mechanism for phosphate removal.
Journal ArticleDOI

Experimental investigation of basic oxygen furnace slag used as aggregate in asphalt mixture

TL;DR: The opinion that using BOF slag in asphalt concrete is feasible is validated, and treated and tested steel slag should be used in a more extensive range, especially in asphalt mixture paving projects in such an abundant steelSlag resource region.
Journal ArticleDOI

Utilization of municipal solid waste incineration ash in stone mastic asphalt mixture: Pavement performance and environmental impact

TL;DR: In this paper, the use of municipal solid waste incinerator (MSWI) fly ash as a partial replacement of fine aggregate or mineral filler in stone matrix asphalt (SMA) mixture is discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Competitive adsorption of copper(II), cadmium(II), lead(II) and zinc(II) onto basic oxygen furnace slag.

TL;DR: Adsorption isotherms at pH 6.0 in the multi-element systems showed that there is competition among various metals for adsorption sites on BOF slag, and inner-sphere complexation was more dominant for the Cu(II), Pb( II) and Zn(II) systems.
Journal ArticleDOI

Adsorption removal of reactive dyes from aqueous solution by modified basic oxygen furnace slag: Isotherm and kinetic study

TL;DR: In this article, the utilization of treated basic oxygen furnace slag (BOF slag) was successfully carried out to remove three synthetic textile dyes (Reactive Blue 19 (RB19), Reactive Black 5 (RB5) and Reactive Red 120 (RR120)) by adsorption from aqueous solutions.
