Journal ArticleDOI

Highly selective transformation of ammonia nitrogen to N2 based on a novel solar-driven photoelectrocatalytic-chlorine radical reactions system.

TL;DR: Compared to conventional breakpoint chlorination, the PEC-chlorine system is a more economical and efficient means for ammonia nitrogen degradation because of the fast removal rate, no additional chlorine cost, and its use of clean energy (since it is solar-driven).
Journal ArticleDOI

Self-Driven Photoelectrochemical Splitting of H2S for S and H2 Recovery and Simultaneous Electricity Generation

TL;DR: The proposed PEC-H2S system provides a self-sustaining, energy-saving method for simultaneous H2S treatment and energy recovery and provides aSelf-bias function between a WO3 photoanode and a Si/PVC photocathode and the special cyclic redox reaction mechanism of I-/I3-.
Journal ArticleDOI

Efficient ammonia removal and toxic chlorate control by using BiVO4/WO3 heterojunction photoanode in a self-driven PEC-chlorine system.

TL;DR: A novel method to selectively generate Cl for efficient ammonia removal using BiVO4/WO3 photoanode in a self-driven photoelectrocatalytic (PEC) system is proposed and shows that 10 mg L-1 of ammonia-N was completely removed in 120 min with 80.1 % of total nitrogen removal.

Tungsten trioxide/titanium dioxide nano heterojunction thin film and preparation and application thereof

TL;DR: In this paper, a tungsten trioxide/titanium dioxide nano heterojunction thin film and a preparation and an application thereof were revealed, where a nano TiO2 layer is formed on the surface of a WO3 thin film in an epitaxial growth manner on the basis of the double-matching relationship of WO 3 and TiO 2 energy level matching and lattice matching.

Photoelectrocatalysis-oxygen free radical denitrification method

TL;DR: In this paper, a photoelectrocatalysis-oxygen free radical denitrification method was proposed, where the photo-anode, the cathode and reference electrode are respectively inserted into the electrolyte solution containing ammonia-nitrogen wastewater in the quartz reaction tank, a bias voltage of 0.5V-1.25V is applied between the photoanode and the cathodes, and a light source irradiates the photoAnode; and the electrolytes solution is added with 20 mg/L-3000mg/L of chloride ions, the pH value of
