MdCOP1 Ubiquitin E3 Ligases Interact with MdMYB1 to Regulate Light-Induced Anthocyanin Biosynthesis and Red Fruit Coloration in Apple
TL;DR: In this study, in vitro and in vivo experiments indicated that MdCOP1s are necessary for the ubiquitination and degradation of MdMYB1 protein in the dark and are therefore involved in the light-controlled stability of the MdMYb1 protein.
Journal ArticleDOI
MdMYB9 and MdMYB11 are Involved in the Regulation of the JA-Induced Biosynthesis of Anthocyanin and Proanthocyanidin in Apples
Xiu-Hong An,Yi Tian,Ke-Qin Chen,Xiao-Juan Liu,Dan-Dan Liu,Xing-Bin Xie,Cun-Gang Cheng,Pei-Hua Cong,Yu-Jin Hao +8 more
TL;DR: These findings provide new insight into the mechanism of how MeJA regulates anthocyanin and PA accumulation in apple and indicate that overexpression of MdJAZ2 inhibits the recruitment of MdbHLH3 to the promoters of MdMYB9 and MdmyB11.
Journal ArticleDOI
MdMYB1 Regulates Anthocyanin and Malate Accumulation by Directly Facilitating Their Transport into Vacuoles in Apples.
TL;DR: The mechanism by which MYB controls malate and anthocyanin accumulation in apples also operates in Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana), providing novel insights into how MYB transcription factors directly modulate the vacuolar transport system in addition to anthocianin biosynthesis, consequently controlling organ coloration and cell pH in plants.
Journal ArticleDOI
The apple WD40 protein MdTTG1 interacts with bHLH but not MYB proteins to regulate anthocyanin accumulation.
TL;DR: Yeast two-hybrid and bimolecular fluorescence complementation assays suggest that the apple WD40 protein MdTTG1 interacts with bHLH but not MYB proteins to regulate anthocyanin accumulation, and does not appear to bind to the promoter of the anthOCyanin biosynthetic genes MdDFR and MdUFGT.
Journal ArticleDOI
The cold-induced basic helix-loop-helix transcription factor gene MdCIbHLH1 encodes an ICE-like protein in apple
Xiao-Ming Feng,Qiang Zhao,Ling-Ling Zhao,Yu Qiao,Xing-Bin Xie,Hui-Feng Li,Yuxin Yao,Chun-Xiang You,Yu-Jin Hao +8 more
TL;DR: It is observed that cold induces the degradation of the MdCIbHLH1 protein in apple and that this degradation was potentially mediated by ubiquitination and sumoylation.
