Comparative Proteomics Indicates That Biosynthesis of Pectic Precursors Is Important for Cotton Fiber and Arabidopsis Root Hair Elongation
Chaoyou Pang,Hui Wang,Yu Pang,Chao Xu,Yue Jiao,Yong-Mei Qin,Tamara L. Western,Shuxun Yu,Yu-Xian Zhu +8 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that ethylene and C24:0 may promote cotton fiber and Arabidopsis root hair growth by activating the pectin biosynthesis network, especially UDP-l-rhamnose and UDP-d-galacturonic acid synthesis.
Journal ArticleDOI
ROW1 maintains quiescent centre identity by confining WOX5 expression to specific cells
TL;DR: It is proposed that ROW1 is essential for QC maintenance and for stem cell niche development through the repression of WOX5 in the proximal meristem through the binding of trimethylated histone H3 lysine 4 in the Wox5 promoter region.
Journal ArticleDOI
Two-Step Functional Innovation of the Stem-Cell Factors WUS/WOX5 during Plant Evolution.
TL;DR: This work shows that the WUS/WOX5 proteins acquired two distinct capabilities by a two-step functional innovation process in the course of plant evolution, consistent with their conserved functions in angiosperm shoot/root stem-cell maintenance and floral organ formation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Recent advances in the research for the homolog of breast cancer associated gene AtROW1 in higher plants.
TL;DR: The study of AtROW1 in plant may provide an ideal model for further elucidating the functional mechanism of BARD1 in mammals.
Journal ArticleDOI
Site-directed RNA editing by harnessing ADARs: advances and challenges
TL;DR: Several site-directed RNA editing systems that rely on the catalytic deamination activity of endogenous or exogenous ADARs are outlined, attempting to illustrate their strategies and discuss numerous shortcomings that need to be overcome in the future.
