Journal ArticleDOI
Intra-unit-cell electronic nematicity of the high- T c copper-oxide pseudogap states
Michael J. Lawler,Kazuhiro Fujita,Kazuhiro Fujita,Kazuhiro Fujita,Jhinhwan Lee,Jhinhwan Lee,Jhinhwan Lee,A. Schmidt,A. Schmidt,Yuhki Kohsaka,Chung Koo Kim,Chung Koo Kim,Hiroshi Eisaki,S. Uchida,J. C. Davis,J. C. Davis,J. C. Davis,James P. Sethna,Eun-Ah Kim +18 more
TL;DR: The determination of a quantitative order parameter representing intra-unit-cell nematicity: the breaking of rotational symmetry by the electronic structure within each CuO2 unit cell is reported.
Journal ArticleDOI
A 'checkerboard' electronic crystal state in lightly hole-doped Ca2-xNaxCuO2Cl2.
Tetsuo Hanaguri,C. Lupien,Yuhki Kohsaka,D.-H. Lee,D.-H. Lee,Miyuki Azuma,Mikio Takano,Hidenori Takagi,J. C. Davis +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented low-temperature electronic structure imaging studies of a lightly hole-doped copper oxide: Ca2-xNaxCuO2Cl2.
Journal ArticleDOI
Field-induced superconducting phase of FeSe in the BCS-BEC cross-over
Shigeru Kasahara,Tatsuya Watashige,Tetsuo Hanaguri,Yuhki Kohsaka,Takuya Yamashita,Y. Shimoyama,Yuta Mizukami,Yuta Mizukami,Ryota Endo,Hiroaki Ikeda,Kazushi Aoyama,Taichi Terashima,Shinya Uji,Thomas Wolf,Hilbert von Löhneysen,Takasada Shibauchi,Takasada Shibauchi,Yuji Matsuda +17 more
TL;DR: It is shown that the Fermi energy of FeSe is extremely small, resulting in that this system can be regarded as an extraordinary “high-temperature” superconductor located at the verge of a BCS-BEC cross-over.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nodal quasiparticles and antinodal charge ordering in Ca2-xNaxCuO2Cl2.
Kyle Shen,Filip Ronning,Donghui Lu,Felix Baumberger,N. J. C. Ingle,Wei-Sheng Lee,Worawat Meevasana,Yuhki Kohsaka,Masaki Azuma,Mikio Takano,H. Takagi,Zhi-Xun Shen +11 more
TL;DR: The authors' measurements reveal a marked dichotomy between the real- and momentum-space probes, for which charge ordering is emphasized in the tunneling measurements and photoemission is most sensitive to excitations near the node of the d-wave superconducting gap.
Journal ArticleDOI
Missing quasiparticles and the chemical potential puzzle in the doping evolution of the cuprate superconductors.
Kyle Shen,Filip Ronning,Donghui Lu,Wei-Sheng Lee,N. J. C. Ingle,Worawat Meevasana,Felix Baumberger,Andrea Damascelli,N. P. Armitage,L. L. Miller,Yuhki Kohsaka,Masaki Azuma,Mikio Takano,Hidenori Takagi,Zhi-Xun Shen +14 more
TL;DR: This work reveals failures in the standard weakly interacting quasiparticle scenario, including the broad line shapes of the insulator and the apparently paradoxical shift of the chemical potential within the Mott gap, and develops a model where the quAsiparticle is vanishingly small at half filling and grows upon doping.
