Journal ArticleDOI
The risk of incident atrial fibrillation in patients with type 2 diabetes treated with sodium glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitors, glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists, and dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitors: a nationwide cohort study
Yi-Hsin Chan,Tze Fan Chao,Shao-Wei Chen,Hsin-Fu Lee,Pei-Ru Li,Wei-Min Chen,Yung-Hsin Yeh,Chi-Tai Kuo,Lai-Chu See,Gregory Y.H. Lip +9 more
TL;DR: In this article , the risk of new-onset AF associated with the use of SGLT2i, GLP-1RA, and dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitor (DPP4i) among a large longitudinal cohort of diabetic patients was evaluated.
Journal ArticleDOI
miR-181b targets semaphorin 3A to mediate TGF-β–induced endothelial-mesenchymal transition related to atrial fibrillation
Ying Ju Lai,Feng-Chun Tsai,Gwo-Jyh Chang,Shang-Hung Chang,Chung-Chi Huang,Wei-Jan Chen,Yung-Hsin Yeh +6 more
TL;DR: This study provides a mechanistic link between the induction of EndMT by TGF-β via miR-181b/Sema3A/LIMK/p-cofilin signaling to atrial fibrosis and potential strategies for AF therapeutic intervention.
Journal ArticleDOI
GT-repeat length polymorphism in heme oxygenase-1 promoter determines the effect of cilostazol on vascular smooth muscle cells.
Wei-Jan Chen,Ying-Hwa Chen,Ying-Ju Lai,Yu-Juei Hsu,Yung-Hsin Yeh,Chien-Sung Tsai,Chih-Yuan Lin +6 more
TL;DR: Whether the inhibitory effect of cilostazol on VSMC proliferation is operated via heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) via an association between CREB and HO-1 is investigated and it is found that the length polymorphism of GT-repeat in human HO- 1 promoter determines the effect.
Journal ArticleDOI
Inhibition of Advanced Glycation End Products Formation Attenuates Cardiac Electrical and Mechanical Remodeling and Vulnerability to Tachyarrhythmias in Diabetic Rats.
TL;DR: Ex vivo and in vitro studies showed AG attenuated AGEs and ROS formation, and long-term administration of AG ameliorated cardiac electromechanical remodeling and arrhythmogenicity in diabetic rats and may present an effective strategy for the prevention of diabetes-associated arrh rhythmias.
Journal ArticleDOI
Different Renal Function Equations and Dosing of Direct Oral Anticoagulants in Atrial Fibrillation
Yi-Hsin Chan,Tze Fan Chao,Hsin-Fu Lee,Yung-Hsin Yeh,Shang-Hung Chang,Chi-Tai Kuo,Gregory Y.H. Lip,Shih Ann Chen +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors investigated the agreement/disagreements of estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) calculated using different equations (CG, Modified Diet in Renal Disease [MDRD], and Chronic Kidney Disease Epidemiology Collaboration [CKD-EPI] formulas), and their impacts on the dosages of DOACs and clinical outcomes.
