Journal ArticleDOI

Commercially activated carbon as the source for producing multicolor photoluminescent carbon dots by chemical oxidation.

TL;DR: Using commercially activated carbon, a simple and effective direct chemical oxidation route is developed to prepare good biocompatible multicolor photoluminescent carbon dots.
Journal ArticleDOI

Crystal Defect Engineering of Aurivillius Bi2MoO6 by Ce Doping for Increased Reactive Species Production in Photocatalysis

TL;DR: Wang et al. as discussed by the authors developed a general strategy to manufacture and mediate crystal defects in the host Bi2MoO6 lattice by varying the cerium dopant content, resulting in greatly improved visible-light-driven photocatalytic performance for the degradation of highly toxic nerve agent simulants (NAS) and organic dyes, as well as bacterial photoinactivation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis of Mesoporous Silica Nanoparticles via Controlled Hydrolysis and Condensation of Silicon Alkoxide

TL;DR: In this article, the in situ pH measurement of synthesis system is introduced to investigate the formation process of mesoporous silica nanoparticles, and the results show that a certain acid−base buffer capacity of the reaction mixture in a range of pH 6−10 is essential for the formation of mesophase in the TEOS−CTA+ system.
Journal ArticleDOI

Fabrication uniform hollow Bi2S3 nanospheres via Kirkendall effect for photocatalytic reduction of Cr(VI) in electroplating industry wastewater

TL;DR: Hazardous hexavalent chromium removal from wastewater is an urgent issue in industry environmental pollution and in this work, hollow Bi2S3 nanospheres have been successfully synthesized from unique Bi2O3 porous nanosphere via Kirkendall effect through hydrothermal process.
Journal ArticleDOI

A luminescent cadmium metal–organic framework for sensing of nitroaromatic explosives

TL;DR: The micrometer-sized compound 1′ dispersed in ethanol exhibits high efficiency detection for picric acid (PA), the high efficiency, stability and recyclability of 1′ make it a potential chemosensor for nitroaromatic explosives.
