Use of Convalescent Plasma Therapy in Two COVID-19 Patients with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome in Korea

TL;DR: To the authors' knowledge, this is the first report of the use of convalescent plasma therapy for COVID-19 in Korea and both patients presented severe pneumonia with acute respiratory distress syndrome and showed a favorable outcome after theUse of convalscent plasma in addition to systemic corticosteroid.
Journal ArticleDOI

Environmental contamination in the isolation rooms of COVID-19 patients with severe pneumonia requiring mechanical ventilation or high-flow oxygen therapy.

TL;DR: Investigating environmental SARS-CoV-2 contamination in the isolation rooms of severe COVID-19 patients requiring mechanical ventilation or high-flow oxygen therapy found viable viruses were identified on the surface of the endotracheal tube of Patient 1 and seven sites in Patient 3’s room.
Journal ArticleDOI

Assessing viral shedding and infectivity of asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic patients with COVID-19 in a later phase

TL;DR: It is suggested that even if viral shedding is sustained in asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic patients with later phase of COVID-19, it can be expected that the transmission risk of the virus is low and saliva can be used as a reliable specimen for the diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 infection.
Journal ArticleDOI

Autogeneration of fuzzy rules and membership functions for fuzzy modelling using rough set theory

TL;DR: A measure called occupancy degree is defined, which can represent the degree of consistency between premise and consequent variables in fuzzy rules describing given experimental data pairs, and is proposed by which the projected data is partitioned on the input space.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of intravitreal dexamethasone implant on retinal and choroidal thickness in refractory diabetic macular oedema after multiple anti-VEGF injections.

TL;DR: In DMO refractory to multiple bevacizumab injections, IVD significantly reduced CFT and subfoveal CT, with BCVA improvement in one-fourth of the patients, and the reduction of CFT showed significant correlation with reduction of subfovesal CT.
