Baade,Freddie Bray,Ahmedin Jemal,Xue Qin Yu,Jie He +43 more
TL;DR: There was a marked overall increase in cancer survival from 2003 to 2015 in the population covered by these cancer registries in China, possibly reflecting advances in the quality of cancer care in these areas.

Cancer survival in China, 2003–2005: A population‐based study
Hongmei Zeng,Rongshou Zheng,Yuming Guo,Siwei Zhang,Xiaonong Zou,Ning Wang,Limei Zhang,Jingao Tang,Jianguo Chen,Kuangrong Wei,Suqin Huang,Jian Wang,Liang Yu,Deli Zhao,Guohui Song,Jianshun Chen,Yong-Zhou Shen,Xiaoping Yang,Xiaoping Gu,Feng Jin,Qilong Li,Yanhua Li,Hengming Ge,Fengdong Zhu,Jianmei Dong,Guoping Guo,Ming Wu,Lingbin Du,Xibin Sun,Yutong He,Michel P Coleman,Peter D. Baade,Wanqing Chen,Xue Qin Yu +33 more
TL;DR: The poor population survival rates in China emphasize the urgent need for government policy changes and investment to improve health services and increasing access of health service in rural areas and providing basic health‐care to the disadvantaged populations will be essential for reducing this disparity in the future.
Journal ArticleDOI
Epidemiology of Esophageal Cancer in Japan and China
Yingsong Lin,Yukari Totsuka,Yutong He,Shogo Kikuchi,You-Lin Qiao,Junko Ueda,Wenqiang Wei,Manami Inoue,Hideo Tanaka +8 more
TL;DR: A well-designed multidisciplinary epidemiologic study is needed to examine the role of diet and eating habits in ESCC risk, including cancer burden, patterns of incidence and mortality, sex ratio of mortality, risk factor profiles, and genetic variants.
Journal ArticleDOI
Long-Term Follow-Up of a Community Assignment, One-Time Endoscopic Screening Study of Esophageal Cancer in China
Wenqiang Wei,Zhifeng Chen,Yutong He,Hao Feng,Jun Hou,Dong-Mei Lin,Xinqing Li,Cui-Lan Guo,Shao-Sen Li,Guo-Qing Wang,Zhi-Wei Dong,Christian C. Abnet,You-Lin Qiao +12 more
TL;DR: It was shown that endoscopic screening and intervention significantly reduced mortality caused by esophageal cancer and detection and treatment of preneoplastic lesions also led to a reduction in the incidence of this highly fatal cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Esophageal cancer in high-risk areas of China: research progress and challenges.
Yingsong Lin,Yukari Totsuka,Baoen Shan,Chaocheng Wang,Wenqiang Wei,You-Lin Qiao,Shogo Kikuchi,Manami Inoue,Hideo Tanaka,Yutong He +9 more
TL;DR: The main causative factors that contribute to esophageal cancer in high-risk areas have not yet been elucidated and challenges in this research area include determining the causative role of nitrosamine and conducting fruitful international collaborative studies based on a multidisciplinary approach.
