Ti3C2Tx/rGO porous composite films with superior electromagnetic interference shielding performances

In this study, we propose a versatile method for synthesizing uniform three-dimensional (3D) metal carbides, nitrides, and carbonitrides (MXenes)/metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) composites (Ti3C2TX/Cu-BTC, Ti3C2TX/Fe,Co-PBA, Ti3C2TX/ZIF-8, and Ti3C2TX/ZIF-67) that combine the advantages of MOFs and MXenes to enhance stability and improve conductivity. Subsequently, 3D hollow Ti3C2TX/ZIF-67/CoV2O6 composites with excellent electron- and ion-transport properties derived from Ti3C2TX/ZIF-67 were synthesized. The specific capacitance of the Ti3C2TX/ZIF-67/CoV2O6 electrode was 285.5 F g−1, which is much higher than that of the ZIF-67 and Ti3C2TX/ZIF-67 electrode. This study opens a new avenue for the design and synthesis of MXene/MOF composites and complex hollow structures with tailorable structures and compositions for various applications.

Embedding CdS@Au into Ultrathin Ti3–xC2Ty to Build Dual Schottky Barriers for Photocatalytic H2 Production

Over the past few decades, graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3 N4 ) has arisen much attention as a promising candidate for photocatalytic hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) owing to its low cost and visible light response ability. However, the unsatisfied HER performance originated from the strong charge recombination of g-C3 N4 severely inhibits the further large-scale application of g-C3 N4 . In this case, the utilization of cocatalysts is a novel frontline in the g-C3 N4 -based photocatalytic systems due to the positive effects of cocatalysts on supressing charge carrier recombination, reducing the HER overpotential, and improving photocatalytic activity. This review summarizes some recent advances about the high-performance cocatalysts based on g-C3 N4 toward HER. Specifically, the functions, design principle, classification, modification strategies of cocatalysts, as well as their intrinsic mechanism for the enhanced photocatalytic HER activity are discussed here. Finally, the pivotal challenges and future developments of cocatalysts in the field of HER are further proposed.

AgFeO2 Nanoparticle/ZnIn2S4 Microsphere p–n Heterojunctions with Hierarchical Nanostructures for Efficient Visible-Light-Driven H2 Evolution

Photocatalysts derived from semiconductor heterojunctions that harvest solar energy and catalyze reactions still suffer from low solar-to-hydrogen conversion efficiency. Now, MXene (Ti3 C2 TX ) nanosheets (MNs) are used to support the in situ growth of ultrathin ZnIn2 S4 nanosheets (UZNs), producing sandwich-like hierarchical heterostructures (UZNs-MNs-UZNs) for efficient photocatalytic H2 evolution. Opportune lateral epitaxy of UZNs on the surface of MNs improves specific surface area, pore diameter, and hydrophilicity of the resulting materials, all of which could be beneficial to the photocatalytic activity. Owing to the Schottky junction and ultrathin 2D structures of UZNs and MNs, the heterostructures could effectively suppress photoexcited electron-hole recombination and boost photoexcited charge transfer and separation. The heterostructure photocatalyst exhibits improved photocatalytic H2 evolution performance (6.6 times higher than pristine ZnIn2 S4 ) and excellent stability.
