The site occupancies of alloying elements in TiAl and Ti3Al alloys

TL;DR: In this article, the authors measured the site preference of different compositions of the elements in the same group of the periodic table and showed that with increasing number of elements, the tendency of these elements to substitute for the elements substituting for Ti decreasing in the above order.
Journal ArticleDOI

NiCoCrAlY coatings with and without an Al2O3/Al interlayer on an orthorhombic Ti2AlNb-based alloy : Oxidation and interdiffusion behaviors

TL;DR: In this paper, the mechanism of oxidation protection of NiCoCrAlY overlay coatings on the orthorhombic Ti(2)AINb-based alloy (O alloy) Ti-22Al-26Nb (at.%) is described.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of heat treatment on microstructure and mechanical properties of the hot-isostatic-pressed Inconel 718 powder compact

TL;DR: In this article, several heat treatments, including the solution plus aging with different solution temperature and the direct aging scheme, have been designed based on the phase relations of Inconel 718 and been employed for the optimization.
Journal ArticleDOI

Influences of hot-isostatic-pressing temperature on microstructure, tensile properties and tensile fracture mode of Inconel 718 powder compact

TL;DR: Inconel 718 powders have been hot-isostatic-pressed (HIPed) at representative temperatures to investigate the variations in microstructure, tensile properties and tensile fracture mode of the powder compact as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Flow behavior and microstructure evolution of a P/M TiAl alloy during high temperature deformation

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the microstructure evolution and nucleation mechanisms of dynamic recrystallization in a P/M Ti-47Al-2Cr-2Nb-0.15B alloy and found that the flow behavior is a function of the deformation temperature and strain rate.
