TL;DR: Results indicated that NH2OH contributed to nitrite production, facilitating the maximum increase of nitrate (NO3--N) to NO2--N transformation ratio to 80.47 ± 2.82%, leading to 2.56-fold NO2-N higher than those of control.

TL;DR: It was difficult to obtain a stable and efficient short-cut denitrification and phosphorus removal process for domestic sewage treatment, therefore, the possibility of using granulation technology of nitritation sludge and intermittent aeration was evaluated to resolve the difficulty.
