Journal ArticleDOI

A review of hyperthermia combined with radiotherapy/chemotherapy on malignant tumors.

TL;DR: A comprehensive review of the latest advances in tumor hyperthermia combined with radiotherapy and/ or chemotherapy is presented, specifically focus on synergistic cellular and molecular mechanisms, thermal dose, treatment sequence, monitoring and imaging, and clinical outcomes of the combination therapy.
Journal ArticleDOI

Numerical simulation of selective freezing of target biological tissues following injection of solutions with specific thermal properties.

TL;DR: It was found that the localized injection of such solutions could significantly enhance the freezing effect and decrease the lowest temperature in the target tissues, suggesting that the injection of these solutions may be a feasible and flexible way to control the size of the ice ball and its direction of growth during cryosurgery.
Journal ArticleDOI

Modeling of multidimensional freezing problem during cryosurgery by the dual reciprocity boundary element method

TL;DR: In this article, a numerical algorithm based on the dual reciprocity boundary element method (DRBEM) is developed to solve multidimensional phase change problem of biological tissues subject to cryosurgery.
