A synthesis of pyrrolo[2,1-a]isoquinolines through the reaction of activated acetylenes and isoquinoline in the presence of ethyl bromopyruvate

TL;DR: Isoquinoline reacts with ethyl bromopyruvate in the presence of dialkyl acetylenedicarboxylates or diaryloylacetylenes to produce dialkyyl 1-(2-ethoxy-2-oxoacetyl)pyrrolo[2,1-a]isoquinoline-2,3-dicar boxylates.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis of a new class of furo[3,2-c]coumarins and its anticancer activity.

TL;DR: These findings could provide new evidence showing the relationship between the chemical structure and anticancer activity of these new coumarin analogs.
Journal ArticleDOI

Reaction between naphthols and dimethyl acetylenedicarboxylate in the presence of phosphites. Synthesis of stable oxa-2λ5-phosphaphenanthrenes, and benzochromene derivatives

TL;DR: The reaction of dimethyl acetylenedicarboxylate with 2-naphthol in the presence of trimethyl or triphenyl phosphite leads to stable dimethyl oxa-2 lambda 5-phosphaphenanthrene derivatives in good yields.
Journal ArticleDOI

Methoxide Ion Promoted Efficient Synthesis of 1,3-Oxathiolane-2-thiones by Reaction of Oxiranes and Carbon Disulfide

TL;DR: In this paper, an efficient one-pot synthesis of functionalized 1,3-oxathiolane-2-thiones was described via reaction of carbon disulfide with oxiranes in the presence of sodium hydride (10 mol%) and methanol.
Journal ArticleDOI

Antiproliferative activity of novel thiopyran analogs on MCF-7 breast and HCT-15 colon cancer cells: synthesis, cytotoxicity, cell cycle analysis, and DNA-binding.

TL;DR: These compounds were synthesized and evaluated for their cytotoxic effect against HCT-15 colon and MCF-7 breast cancer cell lines using Sulforhodamine B (SRB) assay and showed that these compounds could exhibit a good cytotoxicity to both cell lines.
