Journal ArticleDOI

Characterization of the slow wind in the outer corona

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used a 3D magneto-hydrodynamic model to define the streamer boundary and to analyse the edges of coronal holes, and the results of the analysis allow an accurate identification of the source regions of the slow coronal wind that are confirmed to be along the streamers boundary in the open magnetic field region.
Journal ArticleDOI

On the occurrence of thermal non-equilibrium in coronal loops

TL;DR: In this article, an extensive parameter-space study using 1D hydrodynamic simulations (1,020 in total) was conducted and it was shown that the occurrence of TNE requires specific combinations of parameters.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Open Flux Problem

TL;DR: In this article, the authors estimate the open magnetic flux entirely from solar observations by combining automatically detected coronal holes for Carrington rotation 2098 with observatory synoptic magnetic maps.
Journal ArticleDOI

Closed-field coronal heating driven by wave turbulence

TL;DR: In this article, a wave-turbulence-driven (WTD) phenomenology for the heating of closed coronal loops is proposed to capture the large-scale propagation, reflection, and dissipation of wave turbulence along a loop.
