TL;DR: In this article, a linear framework is proposed for the analysis and design of stable and robust stable Generalized Super-Twisting Algorithms (GSTA), including a linear version of the algorithm, the standard STA and a STA with extra linear correction terms, that provide more robustness and convergence velocity.
Abstract: In this paper a linear framework is proposed for the analysis and design of stable and robust stable Generalized Super-Twisting Algorithms (GSTA). The GSTA includes a linear version of the algorithm, the standard STA and a STA with extra linear correction terms, that provide more robustness and convergence velocity. This linear framework allows to construct strong Lyapunov functions of quadratic-like type for the GSTA by means of Algebraic Lyapunov Equations (ALE), in exactly the same form for the linear STA and for the GSTA. When nonlinear perturbations are present this framework leads to the construction of robust Lyapunov functions by solving Algebraic Riccati Inequalities (ARI) or Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMI), that are identical for the linear and the nonlinear versions of the GSTA. The corresponding frequency domain interpretations are also identical for the whole class of GSTA.

TL;DR: A comparative analysis of multiple attribute decision making methods including SAW, MEW, TOPSIS, ELECTRE, VIKOR, GRA, and WMC, showing their performance for different applications such as: voice and data connections, in a 4G wireless system.
Abstract: In a fourth generation (4G) wireless environment, the need for an user to be always best connected (ABC) anywhere at anytime leads to execute a vertical handoff decision for guaranteeing service continuity and quality of service (QoS). Several strategies have been proposed in the literature for addressing this problem, being multiple attribute decision making (MADM) one of the most promising methods. A comparative analysis of these methods including SAW, MEW, TOPSIS, ELECTRE, VIKOR, GRA, and WMC is illustrated with a numerical simulation, showing their performance for different applications such as: voice and data connections, in a 4G wireless system.

TL;DR: The dynamic nonlinear model and the design of a controller for a hexarotor aerial robot is presented and the control algorithm is based on the backstepping technique and it is applied to the trajectory tracking problem.
Abstract: This paper presents the dynamic nonlinear model and the design of a controller for a hexarotor aerial robot The control algorithm is based on the backstepping technique and it is applied to the trajectory tracking problem The wind parameters resulting from the aerodynamic forces and moments acting on the hexacopter are estimated via a sliding mode observer with the super twisting algorithm in order to ensure robustness against aerial external disturbances and parameter variations The performance and effectiveness of the proposed controller are tested in a simulation study taking into account external disturbances which are function of time

TL;DR: Under given placement of PMUs in thePower system, the linear model of state estimation is proposed to show the important contribution of PMU measurements to the power system state estimation along with the bad data detection and identification.
Abstract: Power system state estimation is the important basis of the advanced applications in the power system monitoring, operation and control. The unique ability to calculate synchronized phasors at high precision makes the phasor measurement unit (PMU) an important measuring device to improve the accuracy of state estimator. In this paper, under given placement of PMUs in the power system, the linear model of state estimation is proposed to show the important contribution of PMU measurements to the power system state estimation along with the bad data detection and identification. The effectiveness of the proposed state estimation algorithm is validated using standard IEEE 14 bus test system.

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of the second stage of the Cu2O synthesis were studied as a function of the conditions used in the first stage, and Raman scattering and X-ray measurements were used to assess the evolution of the crystalline quality.
Abstract: Cuprous oxide (Cu2O) crystals were grown by the two step crystallization method in air atmosphere conditions from polycrystalline copper plates. The method comprises two stages; in the first one the copper plates are oxidized at 1020degC by some hours in line with its initial thickness. In the second stage the growth of large crystalline areas is promoted by annealing the Cu2O samples at 1100degC for long periods. The effects on the crystalline structure and photoluminescence (PL) response were studied as a function of the conditions used in the second stage of the synthesis method. Raman scattering and X-ray measurements demonstrates the existence of the single phase Cu2O. PL spectra were taken from 10 to 180 K to define the main radiative recombination paths. Besides of the near band excitonic transitions, two strong emission bands at 720 and 920 nm associated with relaxed excitons at oxygen and copper vacancies were detected. Both excitonic-vacancy bond transitions presented similar intensities which can be associated with the preparation method. The PL and the Raman scattering measurements were used to assess the evolution of the crystalline quality.
