Abstract: Under investigation in this paper is a coherently coupled nonlinear Schrodinger system which describes the propagation of polarized optical waves in an isotropic medium. By virtue of the Darboux transformation, some new solutions have been generated on the vanishing and non-vanishing backgrounds, including multi-solitons, bound solitons, one-breathers, bound breathers, two-breathers, first-order and higher-order rogue waves. Dynamic behaviors of those solitons, breathers and rogue waves have been discussed through graphic simulation.

TL;DR: The modulational instability analysis of the solutions with variable coefficients in the presence of a small perturbation is studied and the semirational solutions of the nonautonomous LF model are obtained, which can be used to describe the interactions between the rogue waves and breathers.
Abstract: In this paper, the nonautonomous Lenells-Fokas (LF) model is investigated. The modulational instability analysis of the solutions with variable coefficients in the presence of a small perturbation is studied. Higher-order soliton, breather, earthwormon, and rogue wave solutions of the nonautonomous LF model are derived via the n-fold variable-coefficient Darboux transformation. The solitons and earthwormons display the elastic collisions. It is found that the nonautonomous LF model admits the higher-order periodic rogue waves, composite rogue waves (rogue wave pair), and oscillating rogue waves, whose dynamics can be controlled by the inhomogeneous nonlinear parameters. Based on the second-order rogue wave, a diamond structure consisting of four first-order rogue waves is observed. In addition, the semirational solutions (the mixed rational-exponential solutions) of the nonautonomous LF model are obtained, which can be used to describe the interactions between the rogue waves and breathers. Our results could be helpful for the design of experiments in the optical fiber communications.

TL;DR: Both the population structure and spatial distribution indicated that ROPS dominates and will continue to dominate the community in the future succession, which should be continuously monitored.
Abstract: Afforestation of native tree species is often recommended for ecological restoration in mining areas, but the understanding of the ecological processes of restored vegetation is quite limited. In order to provide insight of the ecological processes of restored vegetation, in this study, we investigate the development of the population structure and spatial distribution patterns of restored Robinia pseudoacacia (ROPS) and Pinus tabuliformis (PITA) mixed forests during the 17 years of the mine spoil period of the Pingshuo opencast mine, Shanxi Province, China. After a 17-year succession, apart from the two planted species, Ulmus pumila (ULPU), as an invasive species, settled in the plot along with a large number of small diameter at breast height (DBH) size. In total, there are 10,062 living individual plants, much more than that at the plantation (5105), and ROPS had become the dominant species with a section area with a breast height of 9.40 m(2) hm(-2) and a mean DBH of 6.72 cm, much higher than both PITA and ULPU. The DBH size classes of all the total species showed inverted J-shaped distributions, which may have been a result of the large number of small regenerated ULPU trees. The DBH size classes of both ROPS and PITA showed peak-type structures with individuals mainly gathering in the moderate DBH size class, indicating a relatively healthy DBH size class structure. Meanwhile, invasive ULPU were distributed in a clear L shape, concentrating on the small DBH size class, indicating a relatively low survival rate for adult trees. Both ROPS and PITA species survival in the plantation showed uniform and aggregated distribution at small scales and random with scales increasing. ULPU showed a strong aggregation at small scales as well as random with scales increasing. Both the population structure and spatial distribution indicated that ROPS dominates and will continue to dominate the community in the future succession, which should be continuously monitored.

TL;DR: Zhang et al. as mentioned in this paper proposed a new quantitative function for community detection in bipartite networks, and demonstrate that this quantitative function is superior to the widely used Barber's bipartitite modularity and other functions.
Abstract: Community detection in complex networks is a topic of high interest in many fields. Bipartite networks are a special type of complex networks in which nodes are decomposed into two disjoint sets, and only nodes between the two sets can be connected. Bipartite networks represent diverse interaction patterns in many real-world systems, such as predator-prey networks, plant-pollinator networks, and drug-target networks. While community detection in unipartite networks has been extensively studied in the past decade, identification of modules or communities in bipartite networks is still in its early stage. Several quantitative functions proposed for evaluating the quality of bipartite network divisions are based on null models and have distinct resolution limits. In this paper, we propose a new quantitative function for community detection in bipartite networks, and demonstrate that this quantitative function is superior to the widely used Barber's bipartite modularity and other functions. Based on the new quantitative function, the bipartite network community detection problem is formulated into an integer programming model. Bipartite networks can be partitioned into reasonable overlapping communities by maximizing the quantitative function. We further develop a heuristic and adapted label propagation algorithm (BiLPA) to optimize the quantitative function in large-scale bipartite networks. BiLPA does not require any prior knowledge about the number of communities in the networks. We apply BiLPA to both artificial networks and real-world networks and demonstrate that this method can successfully identify the community structures of bipartite networks.

TL;DR: In this paper, a variable-coefficient derivative nonlinear Schrodinger (vc-DNLS) equation was used to model the nonlinear Alfven waves in the inhomogeneous plasmas.
Abstract: Under investigation in this paper is a variable-coefficient derivative nonlinear Schrodinger (vc-DNLS) equation modeling the nonlinear Alfven waves in the inhomogeneous plasmas. The modulation instability is examined for this inhomogeneous nonlinear model. The nonautonomous breather and rogue wave solutions of the vc-DNLS equation are obtained via the modified Darboux transformation. It is found that the velocity and amplitude of the breather can be controlled by the inhomogeneous magnetic field and nonuniform density. Such novel phenomena as breather amplification and nonlinear Talbot effect-like property are demonstrated with the proper choices of the inhomogeneous parameters. Furthermore, dynamics of the fundamental rogue wave, periodical rogue wave, and composite rogue wave are graphically discussed. The trajectories and amplitudes of the rogue waves can be manipulated by the inhomogeneous magnetic field and nonuniform density. In addition, the nonlinear tunneling of the rogue waves and breathers is studied. As an application, a sample model is treated with our results, and the graphical illustrations exhibit the compressing, expanding, and fluctuating phenomena of the Alfven rogue waves.

TL;DR: In this article, a variable-coefficient derivative nonlinear Schrodinger (vc-DNLS) equation governing the femtosecond pulses in the inhomogeneous optical fibers or nonlinear Alfven waves in a plasmas was investigated.
Abstract: Under investigation in this paper is a variable-coefficient derivative nonlinear Schrodinger (vc-DNLS) equation governing the femtosecond pulses in the inhomogeneous optical fibers or nonlinear Alfven waves in the inhomogeneous plasmas. Higher-order breather and rogue wave solutions of the vc-DNLS equation are obtained via the variable-coefficient modified Darboux transformation. Two types of the breather interactions (the head-on and overtaking collisions) are exhibited with different spectral parameters. By suitably choosing the inhomogeneous functions, the parabolic breather, periodic breather, breather amplification and breather evolution are demonstrated. Furthermore, the characteristics of the higher-order fundamental rogue wave, periodic rogue wave and composite rogue wave are graphically discussed. Additionally, the nonlinear tunneling of the higher-order breathers and rogue waves are studied.

Abstract: Under investigation in this paper is the AB system describing marginally unstable baroclinic wave packets in geophysical fluids. By means of the n -fold modified Darboux transformation, the semirational solutions in terms of the determinants of the AB system are derived. These solutions, which are a combination of rational and exponential functions, can be used to model the nonlinear superposition of the Akhmediev breathers (or the Kuznetsov-Ma breathers) and the rogue waves. The k -order rogue wave of the AB system is produced by the interaction between the l-order rogue wave with $\frac{1}{2}(k-l)(k+l+1)$ neighboring elements in the $(k-l)$ -order breathers $(0

TL;DR: In this paper, a non-autonomous breather and rogue wave solutions of the amplifier nonlinear Schrodinger Maxwell-Bloch (NLS-MB) system are constructed via the modified Darboux transformation with the inhomogeneous parameters.
Abstract: Under investigation in this paper is a amplifier nonlinear Schrodinger Maxwell-Bloch (NLS-MB) system which describes the propagation of optical pulses in an inhomogeneous erbium doped fiber. Nonautonomous breather and rogue wave (RW) solutions of the amplifier NLS-MB system are constructed via the modified Darboux transformation with the inhomogeneous parameters. By suitably choosing the dispersion coefficient function, several types of inhomogeneous nonlinear waves are obtained in: (1) periodically fluctuating dispersion profile; (2) exponentially increasing (or decreasing) dispersion profile; and (3) linearly decreasing (increasing) dispersion profile. The nonautonomous characteristics of the breathers and RWs are graphically investigated, including the breather accelerating and decelerating motions, boomerang breather, breather compression, breather evolution, periodic RW, boomerang RW and stationary RW. Such novel patterns as the periodic breathers and rogue-wave fission of the amplifier NLS-MB system are exhibited by properly adjusting the group velocity dispersion function and interaction parameter between silica and doped atoms.

TL;DR: An STZ algorithm is proposed to solve the problem of a missing trajectory in a truck's traces which lasts a few of seconds and the area between any two trajectories which represents the similarity of the two routes is calculated.
Abstract: As GPS datasets are becoming more available with spatial and temporal information, the needs of high quality, predictive information about spatio-temporal are turning out to be a feasible goal. However, many GPS devices are prone to failure, which results in missing GPS data. Moreover, the missing data may affect the accuracy of the result. To make the matter complicate, the missing data is always not missing at random, and is characterized by long time during which no data is observed. In this paper, there exists a missing trajectory in a truck's traces which lasts a few of seconds. In order to make the trajectory complete, an STZ algorithm is proposed to solve this problem for the first time. The STZ algorithm is aimed to compute the area between any two trajectories. In this paper, we have known many possible routes which are from the original point to the destination. Next, this approach calculates the area between any two trajectories which represents the similarity of the two routes. Last, the K-modes algorithm is adopted to group the similarity of the routes and complete the missing trajectories.
