“Coupled processes” as dynamic capabilities in systems integration

Abstract: The dynamics of innovation in complex systems industries is becoming an independent research stream. Apart from conventional uncertainties related to commerce and technology, complex-system industries must cope with systemic uncertainty. This paper’s objective is to analyze evolving technological paths from one product generation to the next through two case studies in the Brazilian aerospace indus­try, considering systems integration as an empirical instantiation of dynamic capabilities. A proposed “coupled processes” model intertwines two organizational processes regarded as two levels of dynamic capabilities: new product and technological developments. The model addresses the role of emergent properties in shaping a firm’s technological base. Moreover, it uses a technology readiness level to unveil systems integration business tricks and as a decision-making yardstick. The “coupled processes” model is revealed as a set of dynamic capabilities presenting ambidexterity in complex systems indus­tries, a finding that may be relevant for newly industrialized economies.

Powerlifting sessions promote significant post-exercise hypotension

Abstract: Introduction: Powerlifting (PWL) is a worldwide method, frequently used in resistance training programs. However, the relationship between cardiovascular responses and PWL is still unclear in the literature. Objective: To evaluate acute cardiovascular overload and post-exercise hypotension (PEH) after acute powerlifting exercise session in subjects with experience in the modality. Methods: Nine powerlifting athletes (34 ± 5 years) participated voluntarily in this study. The following exercises were used in the session: squat, bench press and deadlift (95% of 1 RM, 2 to 5 repetitions). The anthropometric parameters and blood pressure (systolic, diastolic and mean) were evaluated immediately, 5’, 10’, 30’, 60’ and 24 hours after the exercise session with a non-invasive automatic pres-sure monitor. Results: Significant differences (p<0.05) were found between rest and immediately after exercise on systolic (135 ± 6 vs. 153 ± 10 mmHg) and mean (102 ± 3 vs. 108 ± 3 mmHg) blood pressures, but no difference was found at diastolic (85 ± 3 vs. 85 ± 4 mmHg) blood pressure. Additionally, the increase in systolic pressure did not reach values considered as a risk of cardiovascular overload. Significant PEH was found after 60 minutes (systolic: -12 ± 12%, diastolic: -5 ± 6% and mean: -7 ± 5%) and 24 hours after PWL session (systolic: -5 ± 4%, diastolic: -8 ± 4% and mean: -7 ± 3%). Conclusion: Our data demonstrated that a PWL session does not increase systolic blood pressure up to the risk range and promotes PEH after 60 minutes of exercise and that this cardiovascular response persisted after 24 hours post-exertion in powerlifting athletes.Keywords: hypotension; resistance training; exercise.

Fatores Desencadeantes da Intolerância á Lactose: Metabolismo Enzimático, Diagnóstico e Tratamento

Abstract: Milk is a protein rich fluid secreted by the mammary glands of females, very important especially for children. The Ministry of Health recommends a daily intake of milk, because dairy products are considered our primary source of calcium, essential for the maintenance of body functions. The main carbohydrate in milk is lactose, metabolized in the intestine by the enzyme lactase in healthy subjects; in contrast the enzymatic deficiency of lactase leads to adverse reaction called lactose intolerance (LI), causing abdominal pain, diarrhea, vomiting, among other symptoms. Thus, the LI is not considered an allergy because there is no action of immune system. Thus the study aimed to describe the triggering factors of the LI, since it is an adverse reaction that reaches 70% of the world population, as well as diagnosis and treatment. Therefore was held a literature review from the scientific databases such as Scielo, Lilacs, Scholar Google, Pubmed in the period of 2004 to date. According to the authors, the LI is manifested by metabolic inefficiency in the production of lactase, by alteration in gene expression, specifically due the inhibition of LCT gene, investigation about this genetic alteration mechanism and the prevalence of polymorphisms should be studied for better diagnosis and application of appropriate treatment.

Evaluation of Sustainability of Brazilian Ethanol Production: A model in System Dynamics

Abstract: System dynamics is an approach to analyze the behavior of complex systems, such as the productive chains, strictly considering the inherent characteristics. This approach is based on mathematical concepts of nonlinear processes developed in mathematics and physics and consolidated in engineering. The concepts inherent in this approach assists in creating a mathematical model that represents a production chain by using computer simulation. Thus, the main objective of this paper is to present the formalization of the dynamic model of assessing the sustainability of Brazilian ethanol production. We analyzed the external environment and the scenarios needed for a deeper understanding of relation of cause and effect, causal loops and diagrams of flows and stocks because of the awareness stage, with regard to understanding the problems involved, according to methodology known as design science.

Tendencias didácticas y metodológicas para la enseñanza de Matemáticas: un análisis comparativo de los currículos de Brasil, Chile y México

Abstract: Este articulo tiene el objetivo de indicar, por medio de la metodologia de la Educacion Comparada, las tendencias didacticas y metodologicas para la ensenanza de Matematicas en la Ensenanza Fundamental o equivalente de Brasil, Chile y Mexico. Los analisis comparativos se dieron por dos motivos: cambios y reformas curriculares que ocurrieron en la transicion del milenio en paises latinoamericanos y que los paises comparados son miembros de la FISEM - Federacion Iberoamericana de Sociedades de Educacion Matematica. Por lo tanto, se busco en los Curriculos prescritos de Matematicas indicaciones de tales tendencias, siendo ellas, la resolucion de problemas, la contextualizacion, la utilizacion de la historia de las Matematicas, la tecnologia y los juegos.

Adherence of private health system hospitals to dissemination of outcomes according to the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) model.

Abstract: OBJECTIVE To verify if there is an analogy between the indicators of the Global Reporting Initiative adopted by hospitals in the private healthcare system. METHODS Documentary research supported by reports that are electronically available on the website of the companies surveyed. RESULTS The organizations surveyed had a significant adherence of their economic, social and environmental indicators of the model proposed by the Global Reporting Initiative, showing an analogous field of common indicators between them. CONCLUSION There is similarity between the indicators adopted by companies, but one of the hospitals analyzed had a greater number of converging indicators to Global Reporting Initiative.

Marco civil da internet e neutralidade da rede: aspectos jurídicos e tecnológicos

Abstract: This article analyzes the Brazilian Civil Rights Framework for the Internet, legislation that establishes the principles, guarantees, rights and duties for the use of Internet in the country, with particular focus on the principle of web neutrality and its legal and technological aspects. For this purpose, the research analyzes neutrality under three aspects, as a legal principle, as a specific rule and as Internet architecture. The article concludes that the Brazilian Civil Rights Framework for the Internet chose to impose equal treatment to those responsible for transmission, switching and routing in the network, but the discrimination is only treated in one of the layers that make up the network, the physical layer. The isonomic determination excludes the layer which contains the platforms of access to content and applications, thus there can be discrimination in the search to certain contents without breaking the principle of Network Neutrality.

Physiological potential of legumes seeds submitted to stay in mineral mixture

Abstract: Se objetivo con estudio evaluar el potencial fisiologico de semillas de cuatro leguminosas forrajeras tropicales sometidas a la permanencia en mezcla mineral para bovinos, por el test de germinacion, por el test de envejecimiento acelerado y por la prueba de conductividad electrica, con el proposito de dispersarlas Pastoreo por las heces bovinas. El delineamiento experimental fue completamente casualizado en esquema factorial 4x7 (cuatro especies, siete tratamientos), con cuatro repeticiones. Las semillas permanecieron en la mezcla mineral por: 0, 12, 24, 36, 48, 72 y 96 horas. El estres salino, hasta 24 horas, no represento riesgo para la germinacion de las semillas. Asi, la introduccion de semillas en mezcla mineral para bovinos para la dispersion de leguminosas en el pastoreo puede ser utilizada.

Identificação dos aspectos referentes à evasão em cursos de educação à distância nas áreas de administração e gestão financeira

Abstract: O estudo explora os aspectos que levaram estudantes dos cursos de graduacao em Administracao (bacharelado), Gestao Financeira (tecnologo) e pos-graduacao nivel MBA em Financas e Banking na modalidade de educacao a distância (EAD) a evadirem de seus estudos, tendo como objetivo, identificar as circunstâncias que levaram a esse abandono Utilizou-se a metodologia Survey , aplicando um questionario on-line a 144 estudantes dos cursos mencionados oferecidos por duas instituicoes de ensino superior (IES) privadas do Estado de Sao Paulo Identificaram-se pela percepcao de 27% dos respondentes, que as situacoes mais relevantes para a evasao sao os problemas financeiros que desencadeiam queda no desempenho e desmotivacao e a falta de disciplina (cultura) dos estudantes em relacao a metodologia de EAD Pode-se relacionar que tais situacoes sao reflexos do cenario socio-politico-economico atual, bem como, o processo ensino-aprendizagem atraves do Ambiente Virtual de Aprendizado (AVA) passa a ser um desafio para as universidades que estao em constante evolucao na busca de metodologias ativas educacionais

Immunophenotyping of leukocytes in bovine placenta

Abstract: Lymphocytes and macrophages are the main white cells involved in fetal-maternal tolerance. Little is known about these leukocytes in bovine placenta, such as the quantity and location of these cells. Thus, the objective of this study was to identify lymphocyte and macrophage populations in bovine placenta using specific markers and flow cytometry. This study analyzed samples of placentomes and intercaruncular regions of cows in the three quarters of pregnancy. In the placentomes, during the first quarter of pregnancy, mean percentage of labeled CD3+ cells was 2.34%; CD8+, 1.28%; CD14+, 1.66%; and CD335+, 0.96%. For the intercaruncular region, percentage of CD3+ cells was 0.71%; CD8+, 1.63%; CD14+, 2.81%; and CD335+, 2.81%. In the second quarter, placentomes showed 0.94% CD3+ cells; 0.77% CD8+; 0.72% CD14+; and 0.51% CD335+. In the intercaruncular region, percentage of labeled CD3+ cells was 0.50%; CD8+, 1.81%; CD14+, 2.64%; and CD335+, 0.51%. In the third quarter, placentomes showed labeling of 0.88% CD3+; 0.66% CD8+; 1.06% CD14+; and 0.74% CD335+ cells. In the intercaruncular region, percentage of labeled CD3+ cells was 0.19%; CD8+, 2.23%; CD14+, 2.43%; and CD335+, 0.16%. The results showed that there was a greater immunomarking of leukocytes CD3+ and CD335+ in the placentome when compared to the intercaruncular region during the third trimester. It can be concluded that leukocytes populations in bovine placenta is reduced, probably because of the syndesmochorial characteristic of bovine placenta. This represents a significant barrier for the immunological system of the mother, sharply decreasing the exposure of the conceptus to the mother’s immune system.

Barreiras e dificuldades que podem ser encontradas no processo de implementação da governança corporativa nas empresass: um estudo do processo de gerenciamento e da divulgação das informações

Abstract: This paper seeks to analyze the barriers and difficulties faced in the implementation and enforcement the best practices of Corporate Governance using the communication and dissemination of information identified in the researched articles that may confront the items in NVIVO 11 to find convergences that lead to relevance of the study. The comparison method used in NVIVO 11 was by analyzing the frequency of key words discussed in the article, to identify the strong presence of barriers and difficulties in the process of implementation Corporate Governance in companies, making a convergence with reasoned points on article. Based on data researched the article concluded that Corporate Governance is to use a number of practices in the organization to assimilate the relationship between directors, independent auditors, shareholders and board members, to direct the participation of all to achieve good results. We conclude that the barrier and communication within the Corporate Governance are issues that should be better exploited, as recommended in the best practices of Corporate Governance.

Crimes ambientais e sustentabilidade: discussão sobre a responsabilidade penal dos gestores e administradores de empresas

Abstract: O presente artigo tem como objetivo investigar o tratamento juridico da responsabilidade civil e penal dos gestores e administradores em relacao aos danos causados ao meio ambiente. O referencial teorico traz o conceito e analise juridica de responsabilidade, previsao juridica de dano ambiental e as sancoes previstas no ordenamento para as condutas tipificadas como crime. A pesquisa apurou as legislacoes relacionadas a Politica Nacional do Meio Ambiente, destacando o objetivo de harmonizacao entre o principio da livre iniciativa e o desenvolvimento sustentavel. Os dados obtidos atraves de relatorio de orgaos fiscalizatorios do meio ambiente demonstram um numero crescente de acidentes ambientais, com ausencia de indicacao de politicas efetivas de combate as condutas ilicitas. A analise de dados jurisprudenciais demonstra a tendencia de condenacao de gestores e administradores por danos causados ao meio ambiente, quando provado o nexo de causalidade entre a conduta do agressor, mesmo sem intencao de causar dano, e a consequente degradacao ao meio ambiente.

Responsabilidade civil dos provedores de aplicações por ato de terceiro na lei 12.965/14 (marco civil da internet)

Abstract: O presente artigo analisa a Lei n. 12.965/2014, chamada de Marco Civil da Internet, especialmente no que diz respeito a atribuicao da responsabilidade dos provedores da internet por ato de terceiro, que se tornou cada vez mais comum diante da possibilidade de acesso a conteudo ilicito e ofensivo. Por essa razao, entende-se necessario o estudo de seu papel no que se refere a responsabilidade civil; afinal, se todo e qualquer tipo de responsabilidade for atribuido aos provedores que prestam servicos de conteudo, como os de aplicacoes, indaga-se qual seria o impacto no desenvolvimento economico da internet. Para tanto, buscou-se a origem de certa imunidade criada a favor dos provedores, que se deu originalmente com a diretiva norte-americana, seguida da europeia e adotada tambem no Brasil mais de duas decadas depois, com a edicao do Marco Civil da Internet. Apos a realizacao do estudo concluiu-se que a legislacao retira dos provedores a responsabilidade objetiva por danos causados por terceiros atraves de suas paginas ou websites, e lhes atribui responsabilidade subsidiaria apenas em casos omissivos, nos quais, cientes do conteudo ofensivo, permanecem inertes em vez de retirar o material ilicito do ar, ou bloquear seu acesso. ANÁLISE DAS DEMONSTRAÇÕES CONTÁBEIS CONSOLIDADAS COM BASE NO COMITE DE PROMUNCIAMENTO CONTÁBIL Nº 36

Abstract: O objetivo geral desta pesquisa e a constatacao e verificacao da conformidade na confeccao das demonstracoes contabeis consolidadas comparada com o CPC 36, onde foi realizado uma analise das companhias que possui obrigatoriedade em publicar suas demonstracoes na BMF&Bovespa no ano 2013.Este artigo busca solucionar o seguinte problema de pesquisas: No Brasil, as demonstracoes financeiras publicadas estao seguindo os principios impostos pelo CPC 36 na sua elaboracao e apresentacao das demonstracoes consolidadas? Com o objetivo de apresentar aos leitores os procedimentos importantes incorporados a pesquisa, descrevendo os passos para a sua realizacao. Classificamos esta pesquisa, como pesquisa aplicada. Portanto podemos afirmar que a pesquisas possui um vies de abordagem qualitativa, de forma que nesta pesquisa nao vamos analisar com base em numeros, mas sim a qualidade das informacoes divulgadas nas demonstracoes contabeis. A pesquisa foi caracterizada como um procedimento tecnico, um estudo de caso, onde alem da pesquisa bibliografica sera realizada uma analise da organizacao escolhida buscando um melhor entendimento acerca da utilizacao do CPC 36 e sua aplicabilidade, evidenciando assim, a execucao dos procedimentos tecnicos. Constatamos que todos os grupos economicos divulgaram em sua maioria os itens analisados neste trabalho. Portanto de 6 (seis) itens analisados, 4 (quatro) estao em conformidade com as consideracoes dos itens abordados neste artigo. Podemos observar que empresas de capital aberto que tem suas demonstracoes publicadas devem, e precisam ser mais claras em relacao aos ajustes realizados devido as transacoes ocorridas entre as empresas do mesmo grupo economico, sendo que ambos os grupos poderiam ter evidenciado esses ajustes em suas notas explicativas de forma mais detalhada.

Emissão de co2 - a contribuição da siderurgia brasileira no controle dos gases de efeito estufa.

Abstract: The increasing world production of steel, shown by means of indicators, gains relevance due to the high CO2 emissions during its manufacturing process. It stands out that this is an item sensitive to the sustainability of the planet. Brazil, a signatory to the Kyoto Protocol and the Paris Agreement, has made environmental commitments to reducing greenhouse gases. In this sense, this article aims to compare CO2 emissions from the national steel industry with a standard of international excellence. The present research is positioned as qualitative, supported by documental research of reports issued by the Steel Institute Brazil and the company Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metals Corporation. História da física: uma proposta de ensino a partir da evolução de suas ideias

Abstract: The History of Physics stands out as a possibility to help make teaching more critical Physics, revealing a concern to make it more efficient and more adjusted to reality. Knowing the history of physics, its development and the process of acceptance of scientific theories can help to emphasize the non-linearity of physics and the different readings that it can have, for history shows us "why" of the conceptual categories of science. The considerations of this article try to show the need for contextualized Physics in its history and the importance of the history of physics as a fundamental axis in the teaching - learning process.

A regulação do direito do consumidor no comércio eletrônico

Abstract: Relationship between rights and the Internet is acquiring a strategic status since new social, interpersonal and inter-institutional relations demand discussions on paradigms, theories and the application of law. The dissemination of e-business and e-commerce should be underscored among contemporary social transformations that influence Law. Current paper, the result of doctrine and jurisprudence analyses, discusses the regulation of the Consumer Defense Code and its efficiency to solve disputes in Internet transactions, and focuses on e-commerce within the perspective of guaranteeing consumers´ rights which are constitutionally warranted to all Brazilians. Frequently these rights are not totally protected by the State and thus administrative procedures and suites are required. Results show the need for strengthening consumer institutions and provide a healthy development in Information Society´s relationships to avoid liabilities to citizens.

Serological survey of Toxoplamosis in South American coatis (Nasua nasua) in Tietê Ecological Park, São Paulo, SP, Brazil

Abstract: Toxoplasma gondii is an obligate intracellular protozoan parasite that causes toxoplasmosis in humans, domestic animals and wild animals. Although there is serological evidence of T. gondii infection in wild animals, little is known about the role of wildlife in the epidemiological chain of this parasite. The South American coati (Nasua nasua) is an omnivorous species capable of adaptation to different environments. It can be found throughout Brazil, and in anthropized environments it can come into close contact with domestic animals. The present study found occurrences of T. gondii antibodies in South American coatis living in the Tiete Ecological Park, in the municipality of Sao Paulo, Brazil, through the modified agglutination test (MAT). In total, 99 samples were obtained and 70.70% (n = 70) were positive for anti-T. gondii antibodies, with titers that ranged from 50 to 3200. The data from this study indicate that South American coatis are exposed to this parasite.

Versões e interpretações: revisitando a historiografia sobre a abertura dos portos brasileiros (1808)

Abstract: O artigo apresenta algumas das questoes analisadas em nossa pesquisa de doutorado acerca das transformacoes verificadas nas relacoes mercantis e sociais na capitania de Sao Paulo apos a chegada da Corte portuguesa ao Rio de Janeiro. Analisando parte da historiografia produzida sobre a chamada "Abertura dos Portos as Nacoes Amigas", problematizamos suas repercussoes na America lusa, evidenciando em que medida esta decisao constituiu efetivamente um marco do ponto de vista socioeconomico no Centro-Sul da colonia, seja em termos das relacoes entre os "portugueses" do Brasil e da Europa, seja em termos das vinculacoes com interesses britânicos.

Mudança cultural do consumo na sociedade da informação: reflexos no direito do consumidor

Abstract: A internet alterou importantemente a maneira como muitas pessoas trabalham, se divertem, se comunicam e, principalmente, consomem. Essas mudancas aconteceram, preponderantemente, em razao do desenvolvimento da tecnologia da informacao e da destinacao que os criadores e seus usuarios lhe atribuiram. Assim, criou-se uma cultura relacionada a internet que, por sua vez, contribuiu para o estabelecimento da sociedade da informacao. As aludidas mudancas tambem refletiram no Direito, que tem a intencao de servir de instrumento regulatorio para as relacoes decorrentes da convivencia em sociedade. Tanto assim, que uma de suas fontes deriva dos usos e costumes, pois uma de suas funcoes primordiais e acompanhar as mudancas culturais das sociedades, de forma que o ordenamento juridico possa resguardar os direitos dos cidadaos. Assim, o objetivo do artigo e estudar a mudanca cultural do consumo na internet e sua relacao com o Direito do Consumidor. O metodo utilizado consiste no estudo de artigos academicos, legislacoes, pesquisa realizada na internet sobre noticias e sites relacionados, e em especial pela analise da doutrina sobre o assunto. Ao termino do estudo conclui-se ser patente que boa parte da populacao mundial remodelou a maneira de realizar suas compras, deixando de comprar em lojas fisicas e passando a consumir atraves do comercio eletronico ( e-commerce ). Portanto, a cultura da internet alterou tao profundamente as relacoes nas sociedades, em seus mais diversos aspectos, inclusive juridicos, que o Direito do Consumidor deve atualizar-se para abarcar tais mudancas.

Metodologia e recursos para a avaliação da construção do conhecimento sobre o conceito de densidade e massa específica

Abstract: The teaching of physics concepts involves the construction of knowledge in the students' minds. The aim of this article is to present a case report of teaching density and specific mass concepts in high school technical education classes. The study analyzes the results of the construction of methodology and development of a product so that teachers of Physics can give their students the construction of the concept of density of objects and the specific mass of the substances and perceive the different constitutions of the substances found in the Nature or even technologically prepared. The work was motivating with the students praising the obtained learning.
