TL;DR: The structural integrity of the flight vehicle and its attachments scheme to the fighter aircraft has been verified at various aircraft manoeuvring conditions in its flight envelope through analysis.
Abstract: Design of an attachment scheme of a flight vehicle to a fighter aircraft is a critical task. Here, flight vehicle is a cylindrical body and it is attached to fighter aircraft with the help of a component called launch lug. Loads experienced by the flight vehicle in captive condition have been estimated by using aircraft parameters obtained during previous missions of similar kind of vehicles. This paper provides state of the art design consideration of the attachment scheme (launch lug and shell assembly) of the flight vehicle to the fighter aircraft. The structural integrity of the flight vehicle and its attachments scheme to the fighter aircraft has been verified at various aircraft manoeuvring conditions in its flight envelope through analysis. Design is verified using laboratory testing and in field trials. Finally this flight vehicle with the attachment scheme was used in flight trials.

01 Jan 2020TL;DR: In this article, the authors analyzed the motion characteristics of the launch rail and the trajectory of a single-barrel launch vehicle using CAD package and ADAMS software to reduce the tipoff rate.
Abstract: This paper focuses on analyzing the motion characteristics of the launcher missile system and locations of interactions between missile shoes and launch rail. The deviation of direction of the thrust force from flight axis of the missile is known as thrust misalignment. And the deviation of direction of the missile is known as tipoff rate. The main objective of this paper is to analyze characteristics of launcher missile system and its optimization to reduce tipoff rate. The analysis is performed by modeling and simulating the launcher missile system using CAD package and ADAMS software.

TL;DR: The methodology for the CAD of MIC layouts is presented and the algorithm for filling of a general polygon with curved edges, and which lies in the real domain is discussed, is used in the postprocessor for a photoplotter.
Abstract: A PC-based computer-aided design (CAD) package for designing microwave integrated circuit (MIC) printed circuit board (PCB) layout, called microwave artwork postprocessor for photoplotter (MAPP), is developed. The small size of MIC PCBs makes them suitable for defence applications. MAPP has a postprocessor which converts the MIC layout data to a format acceptable as input to a Gerber photoplotter. Photomask of the PCB is obtained from the photoplotter. This paper presents the methodology for the CAD of MIC layouts and also discusses the algorithm for filling of a general polygon with curved edges, and which lies in the real domain. This algorithm is used in the postprocessor for a photoplotter.
