TL;DR: The GPC is comparable to FCTs in therapeutic transplant and can be a useful interim procedure in saving the eyes in cases of infective keratitis in the time of crisis.
Abstract: Purpose: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, most of the eye banks have limited/stopped corneal collection, as this is a highly contagious disease This has led to shortage of donor corneas worldwide Glycerol preservation of tissue remains a viable option in this scenario The objective is to compare fresh corneal tissue (FCT) with glycerol-preserved cornea (GPC) in emergency corneal transplantation Methods: This was a retrospective cohort study conducted in a tertiary care centre of Uttarakhand Medical records of the patients who underwent therapeutic penetrating keratoplasty (TPK) were reviewed FCT group included patients who underwent TPK with fresh corneal tissue and GPC group included patients who underwent TPK with glycerol preserved cornea The indications and outcomes of TPK in the terms of therapeutic success were analysed and compared between both the groups Results: A total of 94 eyes of 91 patients underwent TPK from October 2011 to August 2017 FCT group included 60 eyes of 57 patients and GPC group included 34 eyes of 34 patients The primary indication of TPK was infectious keratitis in both the groups (FCT-816%; GPC - 912%) There was no significant difference in the therapeutic success in both the groups (P = 0741, Odds ratio- 159 with 95% CI- 039-644) Complications included glaucoma (FCT-217%; GPC- 352%) graft infection (FCT- 1833% GPC- 29%); graft rejection (FCT-1166%, GPC- 0%); and graft failure (FCT-8833%, GPC-100%) Conclusion: The GPC is comparable to FCTs in therapeutic transplant and can be a useful interim procedure in saving the eyes in cases of infective keratitis in the time of crisis

TL;DR: There is so much additional to come in IoT and AR technologies, which is why it is so important to grasp what can be provided through these technologies and how these technologies work.
Abstract: The Internet of Things (IoT) is the way of changing the style we communicate with the world. Which can make an abstract idea where the object in our environment, through some introduced properties, develops into smarter and begin independently communicating with each other and persons, through networks maintained by interfaces. On the other phase Augmented reality (AR) blurs the line between our real world and the internet. Still smart watches, smart phones, home security systems are well developed simply called Embracing technology. Businesses are just looking into the value and are beginning to equipment production of embedded sensors. Enormous data will be produced by these devices. Currently, IoT and AR technologies already exist and available services can be found. If IoT and AR combines, a revolution will create beyond smart phone automate business processes in ways never possible before. This paper describes the architecture, technology networks, applications of IoT and Augmented reality systems. However, there is so much additional to come in IoT and AR technologies, which is why it is so important to grasp what can be provided through these technologies and how these technologies work.

TL;DR: Stroke with AF is found in 25% patients, more common in elderly, female large atrial size and associated with poor outcome, according to single center hospital based study.
Abstract: BACKGROUND: Secondary stroke prevention is as important as the treatment of acute ischemic stroke in regards to halt neurological disability and to lower down mortality due to recurrent episodes. The effective secondary prevention depends on finding the specific risk factors leading to cerebro-vascular insult. AIMS AND OBJECTIVES: We aimed this study to find prevalence of persistent/Paroxysmal AF in stroke patients from single center hospital based study. METHODS: Hospital based study enrolled all prospective patients of acute ischemic stroke from January 2016 to December 2018. All patients were subjected to test for risk factors analysis after detail clinical history and examination of these patients. Following variables were recorded; age, gender, stroke territory, stroke severity by NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale), LDL-C (Low Density Lipoprotein - cholesterol) of more than 100 mg/dl, HBA1C (Glycosylated Hemoglobin) of more than 6.5, Homocystine of more than 15 Mc Mol/L, 2D-Echocardiographic abnormalities, electrocardiography/24 hour Holter Monitoring, cerebral angiography of brain and neck findings and outcome of patients in 90 days follow-up based on Modified Rankin Scale. Results: Total 246 patients (69.5% men and 30.5% women) of Acute Ischemic stroke were recorded during study period. Mean age was 61.4 years, with 31 (12.4%) patients were below 45 years. Atrial fibrillation (AF) was detected either on conventional ECG or 24 hour Holter monitoring in 62 (25.2%) patients. CONCLUSION: Stroke with AF is found in 25% patients, more common in elderly, female large atrial size and associated with poor outcome.
