TL;DR: In this paper, the crystalline phase, microstructure, semiconduction, and humidity-sensitive electrical conduction of MgCr2O4-TiO2 ceramics were studied.
Abstract: The crystalline phase, microstructure, semiconduction, and humidity-sensitive electrical conduction of MgCr2O4-TiO2 ceramics were studied. A solid solution with TiO2 up to 30 mol% occurs as a single phase with a pure MgCr2O4-type spinel structure. The humidity-sensitive electrical conduction of the MgCr2O4-TiO2 porous ceramics is the most promising for humidity-sensing devices.

Abstract: Thin film CdS/CdTe solar cells with an efficiency of 6.3 % have been prepared on a borosilicate glass substrate of 4s×4 cm2 by successively repeating screen printing and heating (sintering) of each paste of CdS, CdTe and C. The CdS paste consists of CdS, CdCl2, GaCl2 and propylene glycol (PG). The CdTe paste contains CdCl2 and PG, and the C paste contains PG and a small amount of acceptor impurity. During the heating of C paste, an nCdS/pCdTe heterojunction is formed. In the most efficient cell, the peak of electron voltaic effect exists within 1 µm of the CdTe side from the CdS/CdTe metallurgical boundary. The C electrode cell is more stable than the previous Cu2Te electrode cell for an accelerated life test. From 25 elemental cells with 4×4 cm2 substrate, a 1 watt module has tentatively been constructed with a module efficiency of 2.9 %.

TL;DR: In this article, a tuning control signal generated within the radio receiver is fed to a voltage variable capacitor within the voltage variable reactance circuit of the antenna circuit through the coaxial cable.
Abstract: At the feed side of each antenna element having transmitting conductor paths formed in continuous meandering shapes and having distributed constant impedances are electrically connected a variable tuning unit including a voltage variable reactance circuit and an impedance adjusting reactance element, thereby constituting an antenna circuit. A voltage variable capacitor is connected within the voltage variable reactance circuit. Antenna feed terminals are connected through a coaxial cable to input terminals of a remote-set radio receiver. A tuning control signal generated within the radio receiver is fed to a voltage variable capacitor within the voltage variable reactance circuit of the antenna circuit through the coaxial cable. The tuning control signal allows the antenna circuit to resonate with a particular frequency within a frequency band, the freqency being variable. The antenna element having the distributed constant inductance functions so as to have the best possible antenna radiation efficiency at resonant frequency signal by being in combination with the variable tuning unit and the antenna element is considerably reduced in size. At the resonant frequency signal, the characteristic impedance at the feed terminals of the antenna circuit becomes equal to that impedance at the receiving input terminals at the radio receiver connected to the antenna circuit, whereby an RF signal at the resonant frequency is selected and fed most efficiency to the radio receiver through the coaxial cable.

TL;DR: In this article, a drive circuit for a liquid crystal display is described, in which a DC bias voltage to determine the operating point of the display device is applied to the common electrode.
Abstract: A drive circuit drives a liquid crystal display device of the type in which liquid crystal fills a space between an X-Y matrix substrate having a number of picture elements each including a switching element, and a common electrode plate. The drive circuit provides an optimum picture displayed to an observer in accordance with ambient conditions such as light and temperature. To this end, a DC bias voltage to determine the operating point of the liquid crystal display device is applied to the common electrode. The brightness of the displayed picture may be controlled by adjusting the DC bias voltage. The DC bias is changed in accordance with a change in an amount of ambient light or ambient temperature. Furthermore, in accordance with the fall of the ambient temperature the DC voltage applied to the common electrode is made to oscillate at a frequency to which the liquid crystal is insensitive, with respect to the bias point. At this time, the amplitude of the oscillation is made large.

TL;DR: An improved flat induction heating coil for a cooking apparatus of the type in which an electrically conductive cooking utensil is heated according to the principle of electromagnetic induction is described in this article.
Abstract: An improved flat induction heating coil for a cooking apparatus of the type in which an electrically conductive cooking utensil is heated according to the principle of electromagnetic induction. To provide a substantially uniform magnetic flux density distribution in the induction coil constituting a part of the cooking apparatus and, hence, a uniform temperature distribution across the bottom of the cooking utensil, a refractory insulating material is wound adjacent inner turns of the coil to provide a comparatively larger winding pitch for said inner turns than for outer turns. This arrangement makes for a flattened temperature profile and eliminates an uneven cooking of food.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a method of food heating control in which the heating time length (τ o ) from a time point (t 1 ) when the food temperature changing with the heating thereof reaches a predetermined set value (T 1 ) to a point when the vapor or gas liberated by heating of the food begins to increase the humidity or gas concentration is used as a basis for automatically determining a subsequent heating time (τ R ).
Abstract: A method of food heating control in which the heating time length (τ o ) from a time point (t 1 ) when the food temperature changing with the heating thereof reaches a predetermined set value (T 1 ) to a time point (t 2 ) when the vapor or gas liberated by heating of the food begins to increase the humidity or gas concentration is used as a basis for automatically determining a subsequent heating time length (τ R ). Since the time period (τ R ) for the subsequent heating process is determined by the heating time from the time point when the food temperature reaches a predetermined set value to the time point when the humidity or gas concentration begins to increase (unlike in the prior art method in which the heating time from the start of heating to the time point when humidity begins to increase is used to determine the subsequent heating time), the error in the heating time which otherwise might be caused by the variation in the initial food temperature is obviated. Consequently, it is possible to determine the total heating time without it being substantially affected by the initial temperature of the food.
