TL;DR: The age of surface uplift in southeastern Tibet is currently unknown, but the initiation of major river incision can be used as a proxy for the timing of initial uplift as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: The age of surface uplift in southeastern Tibet is currently unknown, but the initiation of major river incision can be used as a proxy for the timing of initial uplift. The topographically high eastern plateau and gently dipping southeastern plateau margin are mantled by an elevated, low-relief relict landscape that formed at a time of slow erosion at low elevation and low tectonic uplift rates prior to uplift of the eastern Tibetan Plateau. Thermochronology from deep river gorges that are cut into the relict landscape shows slow cooling between ca. 100 and ca. 10–20 Ma and a change to rapid cooling after ca. 13 Ma with initiation of rapid river incision at 0.25–0.5 mm/yr between 9 and 13 Ma. A rapid increase in mean elevation of eastern Tibet beginning at this time supports tectonic-climate models that correlate the lateral (eastern) expansion of high topography in Tibet with the late Miocene intensification of the Indian and east Asian monsoons.

TL;DR: This paper is focused on routing in space DTNs, and in particular on contact graph routing (CGR) and its most representative enhancements, available in the literature, which are briefly surveyed in this work.
Abstract: Delay- and Disruption Tolerant Networks (DTNs) are based on an overlay protocol and on the store-carry-forward paradigm. In practice, each DTN node can store information for a long time before forwarding it. DTNs are particularly suited to cope with the challenges imposed by the space environment. This paper is focused on routing in space DTNs, and in particular on contact graph routing (CGR) and its most representative enhancements, available in the literature, which are briefly surveyed in this work. Moreover, the applicability and the obtained performance of the DTN protocol stack and of the CGR have been evaluated by presenting results from real experimental experiences such as the Deep Impact Network experiment (employing the EPOXI space cruise), the JAXA jointly performed space link demonstrations with NASA (where the JAXA’s GEO relay satellite called Data Relay Test Satellite has been used), the Space Data Routers European Project, and the pilot operation of a DTN implementation on the International Space Station (ISS).

TL;DR: The authors compared self-reported parental values and child-rearing practices, and teacher-reported and observed children's social skills among families of 40 preschool and kindergarten children in each of three cultural groups: Chinese in Taiwan, first-generation Chinese in the United States, and European Americans in the USA.
Abstract: Self-reported parental values and child-rearing practices, and teacher-reported and observed children’s social skills, were compared among families of 40 preschool and kindergarten children in each of three cultural groups: Chinese in Taiwan, first-generation Chinese in the United States, and European Americans in the United States. As expected, both samples of Chinese parents more strongly endorsed traditional Chinese values and exerted more parental control over their children than did American parents. Observations of child social competence during a videotaped family interaction revealed no significant differences among the three ethnic groups. Ratings of parental directiveness and warmth during the videotaped family interaction showed that Chinese American parents, as compared to European American parents, were rated as significantly more directive but equally warm.
