TL;DR: The Kalman Filter is implemented for Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) on the ATMega8535 and a pipeline configuration is recommended if the control algorithm needs more space in a sampling time.
Abstract: The Kalman Filter is very useful in prediction and estimation. In this paper, the Kalman Filter is implemented for Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) on the ATMega8535. The sensors used in this system are accelerometer MMA7260QT and gyroscope GS-12. The system chooses the arbitrary sampling time and then it is evaluated for possible using smaller value. As the Kalman Filter operation needs matrix calculation, the formula is converted into several ordinary equations. The parameter being investigated in this paper is measurement covariance matrix. This parameter influences the way the Kalman Filter responses to noise. Bigger value makes the Kalman Filter less sensitive to noise and the estimation is too smooth, thus it does not give real angle estimation. Using smaller value makes the Kalman Filter more sensitive to noise. This makes the estimated angle still suffers from noise and it is likely that the Kalman Filter is useless. This paper recommends 0.0001 to 0.001 for the measurement covariance noise parameter. This paper also recommended a pipeline configuration if the control algorithm needs more space in a sampling time.

TL;DR: Two EPQ models of uniform distribution and exponential distribution of corrective and maintenance times are developed and it is shown that the corrective time parameter is one of the most sensitive parameters to the optimal total cost.
Abstract: In recent years, many researches on economic production quantity EPQ models with machine breakdown and preventive maintenance have been developed, but few of them have developed integrated models for deteriorating items. In this study, we develop EPQ models for deteriorating items with preventive maintenance, random machine breakdown and immediate corrective action. Corrective and preventive maintenance times are assumed to be stochastic and the unfulfilled demands are lost sales. Two EPQ models of uniform distribution and exponential distribution of corrective and maintenance times are developed. An example and sensitivity analysis is given to illustrate the models. For the exponential distribution model, it is shown that the corrective time parameter is one of the most sensitive parameters to the optimal total cost.

TL;DR: In this paper, the results of an investigation to assess the pozzolanic activity of LUSI mud, especially in semi high volume pozzolainic mortar, were reported.
Abstract: LUSI mud obtained from the mud volcano in Sidoarjo, Indonesia, is a viable aluminosilicate material to be utilized as pozzolanic material. LUSI is an abbreviation of the local name of the mud, i.e., Lumpur Sidoarjo, meaning Sidoarjo mud. This paper reports the results of an investigation to assess the pozzolanic activity of LUSI mud, especially in semi high volume pozzolanic mortar. In this case, the amount of mud incorporated is between 30% to 40% of total cementitious material, by mass. The content of SiO2 in the mud is about 30%, whilst the total content of SiO2, Fe2O3 and Al2O3 is more than 70%. Particle size and degree of partial cement replacement by treated LUSI mud affect the compressive strength, the strength activity index (SAI), the rate of pozzolanic activity development, and the workability of mortar incorporating LUSI mud. Manufacturing semi high volume LUSI mud mortar, up to at least 40% cement replacement, is a possibility, especially with a smaller particle size of LUSI mud, less than 63 μm. The use of a larger percentage of cement replacement by LUSI mud does not show any adverse effect on the water demand, as the flow of the fresh mortar increased with the increase of percentage of LUSI mud usage.

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of calcinations temperatures of LUSI mud on the compressive strength of geopolymer mortar was investigated, i.e. 700, 800 and 900°C for five hours duration.
Abstract: The abundant availability of LUSI (a short form of LUmpur SIdoarjo or Sidoarjo mud) mud of a mud volcano located in Sidoarjo, East Java, Indonesia, attracts interest of researchers to seek the possibility of utilizing it; among them is as construction material. This study focuses on the effect of calcinations temperatures of LUSI mud on the compressive strength of geopolymer mortar. Three different calcinations temperatures were investigated, i.e. 700, 800 and 900°C for five hours duration. Characterization of the mud, both the original and the calcined ones, was performed by using X-ray Diffraction (XRD) and X-ray Fluoresence (XRF) analyses. The calcined LUSI mud was then employed as precursor for making geopolymer mortar, and tested for its 7-day compressive strength. It is found that calcinations at 800°C is the optimum calcinations temperature producing the highest compressive strength.

Abstract: This paper uses data envelopment analysis (DEA) to investigate the technical efficiency of the Indonesian commercial banks over the period 2004-2009 using intermediation approach. The analysis is conducted based on common frontier of duration of study and ownership of the banks, namely state-owned banks and private banks. Then Tobit regression model is used to examine the influence of internal factors as bank characteristics to efficiency scores. The results of DEA show that Indonesian commercial banks could improve their technical efficiency by 10.5% on average and the scale inefficiency is dominating over pure technical inefficiency. The commercial state-owned banks are showing perfect efficiency during the period of study, and proven to be more efficient compared to the commercial private banks. Finally Tobit regression is revealing that higher asset scale and liquidity risk increase the efficiency of the bank, while the profitability is on the contrary.

TL;DR: In this paper, a synchronic and a diachronic method is applied to understand the old town centre historical development, and the relationship between building type and urban fabric, from 1787 to 2005 for future development.
Abstract: Recently, the phenomena of economic boom during the 1990s have led to the physical restructuring within the old centre of Surabaya. The changes is inevitable, thus the real issue is how to find the elements of persistent, constraining development to some degree that could be applied to influence future development. The objective of the research is to understand the impact of intervention, and to find the typo-morphological framework in the European and the Chinese quarters, from 1787 to 2005 for future development. A synchronic and a diachronic method is applied to understand the old town centre historical development, and the relationship between building type and urban fabric. The result shows three different degrees of persistent. The town plan of the Chinese and the European districts show a notable persistence. However the land utilization is less persistent especially in the European district such as the first and the second city wall were replaced by roads, and the first and the second fort were replaced by open space and residential uses. Finally, the buildings fabric shows a drastic change such as most of the nineteenth century Indische buildings have been replaced by the 1920s modern buildings.

TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of heating temperature, particle fineness or nominal size and cement replacement ratio of treated Sidoarjo mud in mortar was investigated by a series of test of Thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), X-ray Diffraction (XRD), and X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF).
Abstract: The potential of treated Sidoarjo Mud as pozzolanic material has been investigated previously with positive results by applying heat treatment by burning it at high temperature. This study focusses on the influence of heating temperature, particle fineness or nominal size and cement replacement ratio of treated Sidoarjo mud in mortar. The treated Sidoarjo mud was characterized by a series of test of Thermal gravimetric Analysis (TGA), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF). The heating temperature variation applied were at 500, 600, 700, and 800°C for two hours, and oven dried but untreated sample for comparison. The particle sizes were varied by sieving passing size 600-150, 150-75, and <75I¼m, while the percentage of cement replacement ratio was of 10, 20, and 30 by mass. The results show that the burned mud at 600°C, fineness <75µm, and replacement ratio 10 produce highest compressive strength. Heating the mud at 500-800°C would make it become pozzolanic whereas the unburned mud is not eligible to be used as pozzolanic material

Abstract: The role of media in dinamics of Contemporary Indonesia Politic is slightly changing. Media control toward public opinion lets media become a tool for image creation and contestation in politic. The esence of politic have been reduced, on the other side the image of candidate become strategic isue beyond party program, vision and mision of the candidate. In political image, media change the candidate to be a package product adjusted to market taste instead of placing him as a political figure. Moreover, media represent constituent as political target market that can be influenced through public relations, marketing and ads strategies. Political image is also played by media within news, especially those which related to authorized power and capitalists. The win of candidate is determined by his soft skill in playing political image through the media.

Abstract: This study aims to analyze how Haruki Murakami reads the real icons of Johnnie Walker and Colonel Sanders in Kafka on the Shore deconstructively. First, we will focus on the signification process of the icon, which are to a great extent molded by advertisements, and then on the deconstruction of their signifieds. For the purpose, we will apply Barthes’ idea of myth. We are also interested in revealing how Murakami constructs Johnnie Walker and Colonel Sanders to be characters in the novel. The analysis shows that the construction of the icons through advertisements leads to the creation of their mtyhs, and then Murakami reads them deconstructively to be opposite signifieds.

TL;DR: In this paper, a hot-wire anemometer was used to sample the intermittent turbulent flow of an unsteady jet and the results showed that the flow field of the jet demonstrates the existence of two distinct regions, as found earlier.
Abstract: A preceding striking finding in an unsteady jet indicated that the jet departed from its linear trajectory after propagating some downstream locations from its nozzle exit region. In this paper, the propagation of an unsteady jet was experimentally studied. A hot-wire anemometer was used to sample the intermittent- turbulent flow. During the preliminary measurements, the jet was generated from a round nozzle with a varied pulsing frequency and constant mass flow rate. The present results show that the pulsed jet is axisymmetric. Unlike the earlier finding the jet follows a straight line trajectory to propagate further downstream. The flow field of the jet demonstrates the existence of two distinct regions, as found earlier, but it heavily relies on the level of pulsing frequency imposed on the jet. The steady jet part of the jet departs from a self-preserving steady jet having a greater value of aggregate turbulence intensity of around 35% of the mean centerline-axial velocity than that of a self-preserving steady jet. Along 50 diameters downstream, the pulsed jet spreading rate is found to be higher than that of a steady counterpart.
