TL;DR: Taste buds were found to be restricted in the glandular areas of the tongue in all the birds and always in close association with the gland ducts, while in fowl two distinct cell types were identified: one elaborating sulfomucins and the other sialomucin.

TL;DR: In this article, the selective separation of copper(II) from iron, cobalt, nickel, zinc, cadmium and vanadium is achieved by liquid-liquid extraction with TOA either from HCl or HBr media.
Abstract: Selective separation of copper(II) from iron, cobalt, nickel, zinc, cadmium and vanadium is achieved by liquid-liquid extraction with TOA either from HCl or HBr media. The method is shown to be applicable to alloys.

TL;DR: In this article, a method for synergetic extraction and subsequent spectrophotometric determination of gold(III) was described, and the gold-α-furil dioxime-pyridine complex extracted into chloroform has a characteristic yellow colour with an absorption maximum at 330 nm.
Abstract: A method is described for the synergetic extraction and subsequent spectrophotometric determination of gold(III). The gold-α-furil dioxime-pyridine complex extracted into chloroform has a characteristic yellow colour with an absorption maximum at 330 nm. Beer's law is obeyed in the concentration range [Au(III)]≦45μg/ 10 ml organic phase. A scheme to separate gold from interfering elements by extraction with 4-methyl-2-pentanol in benzene has been proposed.

TL;DR: In this paper, the acid catalyzed hydrolysis of some alkylhydroxamic acids has been studied spectrophotometrically in perchloric, hydrochloric and sulfuric acids.
Abstract: The acid catalyzed hydrolysis of some alkylhydroxamic acids has been studied spectrophotometrically in perchloric, hydrochloric and sulfuric acids. Plots of the first order rate constant, kobs against H+ show maxima, which are caused by protonation of the substrate. The mechanism of hydrolysis is found to be similar to that of amides. The variation of reaction rate with acid concentration can be described by a two-parameter equation.

TL;DR: In this article, a simple and rapid method for synergetic extraction and spectrophotometric determination of iron(II) was described, and the Fe(II)-α-furildioxime-pyridine complex extracted into chloroform has a characteristic pink color measurable at 570 nm.
Abstract: A simple and rapid method is described for synergetic extraction and spectrophotometric determination of iron(II). The Fe(II)-α-furildioxime-pyridine complex extracted into chloroform has a characteristic pink color measurable at 570 nm. Iron is also separated from associated elements and the results of the analysis of synthetic mixtures and standard steel samples are reported.

TL;DR: Palladium forms a red complex with 6-nitro quinoxaline -2, 3-dithiol (HNQDT) which is extractable at pH f. 1 in iso-butyl methyl ketone.
Abstract: Palladium forms a red complex with 6-nitro quinoxaline -2, 3-dithiol (HNQDT) which is extractable at pH f. 1 in iso-butyl methyl ketone. The complex has an absorption maximum at 580 nm and a molar absorptivity of 3.8 × 104 l mol−1 cm−1. Beer's law is valid up to 2 ppm of Pd(II). Composition of the complex is 1:2 Pd(II):HNQDT. Interferences due to various ions are reported.

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that the rotation of a self-gravitating perfect fluid with infinite electrical conductivity and constant magnetic permeability is invariant to the magnetic field.
Abstract: A space-time permeated by the self-gravitating perfect fluid with infinite electrical conductivity and constant magnetic permeability (perfect magnetofluid) is investigated. For aC space defined as the space in which the divergence of conformal curvature vanishes, it is proved that the rotation explicitly depends on the magnetic field. In aJ space characterized by the vanishing of the divergence of Petrov space-matter tensor, the invariance of the energy density, the isotropic pressure, and the magnitude of the magnetic field along the divergence-free magnetic lines is established. It is found that if the stress-energy tensor of the perfect magnetofluid is a Killing tensor, the energy density, the isotropic pressure, and the magnitude of the magnetic field are constant. Moreover it is shown that the stream lines are expansion-free and the magnetic lines are divergence-free. It is proved that the complexion of the field of the perfect magnetofluid remains invariant along the magnetic lines if and only if these lines are normal to the lines of vorticity.
