TL;DR: The Permian to Holocene sediments of the United Arab Emirates consist mainly of epeiric shelf carbonates, associated with minor clastics and evaporites, reflecting major cycles of transgression and regression as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: The Permian to Holocene sediments of the United Arab Emirates consist mainly of epeiric shelf carbonates, associated with minor clastics and evaporites, reflecting major cycles of transgression and regression. These were deposited on the eastern margin of the Arabian Shield, which lay along the southern margin of the Tethys Ocean during the Mesozoic-Cenozoic eras. Sedimentation patterns were controlled by prominent regional structural features epeirogenic movements and/or sea-level fluctuations.

TL;DR: Two male infants suffering from primary hypomagnesaemia, diagnosed at 3 months and 2.5 months of age, are described, who both presented with generalised convulsions and improved dramatically after initiation of magnesium therapy.
Abstract: We describe two male infants suffering from primary hypomagnesaemia, diagnosed at 3 months and 2.5 months of age. They both presented with generalised convulsions, with case 2 exhibiting hypocalcaemia which did not respond to calcium and case 1 having normocalcaemia at first but hypocalcaemia 3 days after admission. Both improved dramatically after initiation of magnesium therapy. A carrier-mediated transport defect is the most likely cause of this disease. It is of the utmost importance that a correct and prompt diagnosis be made as therapy is simple and effective. Failure in diagnosing this condition could prove fatal as demonstrated in the family history of case 2.

TL;DR: The results indicate that the apical coordination of the ionized amide group of the peptide and the Ionized alcoholatogroup of the amino acid is not possible.
Abstract: The formation and stability of the mixed-ligand complexes of copper(II) with diethylenetriamine (dien) and amino acids or peptides have been investigated by potentiometric and conductometric techniques. The results indicate that the apical coordination of the ionized amide group of the peptide and the ionized alcoholatogroup of the amino acid is not possible.

TL;DR: The effects of Dexamethasone at different dose regimens on some haematological parameters and serum biochemistry were studied in the camel as mentioned in this paper, and the results showed that DexamETHASONE increased the serum concentration of glucose as well as neutrophils and total leukocyte count in the blood.
Abstract: The effects of dexamethasone at different dose regimens on some haematological parameters and serum biochemistry were studied in the camel. Dexamethasone increased the serum concentration of glucose as well as neutrophils and total leukocyte count in the blood. Conversely, the serum concentrations of potassium and phosphorus and lymphocyte count in blood were decreased by dexamethasone treatment. Dexamethasone, however, had no effect on the activities of CPK and gamma-GT, on the serum concentrations of creatinine, BUN, total bilirubin, cholesterol and Na and on PCV, Hb, ESR, MCV and MCHC values.

TL;DR: In this article, the approximate prediction of the concentration profiles following the release of a fuel into air, typically within a confined space at constant pressure and temperature is presented using generalized charts based on the one-dimensional diffusion equation and an effective eddy diffusivity.
Abstract: The approximate prediction of the concentration profiles following the release of a fuel into air, typically within a confined space at constant pressure and temperature is presented using generalized charts based on the one-dimensional diffusion equation and an effective eddy diffusivity. It is suggested that such generalized plots can be employed to establish the size and changes with time of the associated flammable zones, including when convective diffusion may be involved. Examples for some typical common fuels are presented.

TL;DR: In this article, an investigation was made of wave generation and radiation of third harmonics by s-polarized electromagnetic waves incident on a narrow inhomogeneous layer of a magnetoactive plasma.
Abstract: An investigation is made of wave generation and radiation of third harmonics by s-polarized electromagnetic waves incident on a narrow inhomogeneous layer of a magnetoactive plasma. The amplitudes of the radiated third-harmonic waves are calculated. In contrast with second harmonics, third harmonics are radiated for the case of normally incident waves on an unmagnetized plasma.

TL;DR: In this paper, a charge-free surface separating two semi-infinite dielectric fluids influenced by a normal periodic electric field is subjected to nonlinear deformations, and the method of multiple scales is used to solve the nonlinear equations.
Abstract: A charge-free surface separating two semi-infinite dielectric fluids influenced by a normal periodic electric field is subjected to nonlinear deformations. We use the method of multiple scales in order to solve the nonlinear equations. In the first-order problem we obtained Mathieu's differential equation. For the second order, we obtain the nonhomogeneous Mathieu equation and we use the method of multiple scales to obtain a sequence of equations. In the third order we obtain the second-order differential equation of periodic coefficients. Also, we obtain a formula for surface elevation. The stability conditions are determined.

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of the πacceptor tendency of the Mo(4d)−L(π*) back bonding was analyzed in terms of electronic and 31P n.m.r. spectra.
Abstract: Improved preparations ofcis-[LMo(CO)4],cis-[L2Mo(CO)2], and [LMo(CO)3P] where L=N, N′-ethylenebis(1, 2-dimethylpyrazole-3-carboxaldeneimine) and P=P(p-MeOC6H4)3, P(p-MeC6H4)3, P(p-ClC6H4)3 or P(o-MeC6H4)3 are reported. The compounds were characterized by elemental analysis and i.r., electronic and31P n.m.r. spectra. The ν(CO) values for the nonphosphine complexes indicate Mo(4d)−L(π*) back-bonding. Furthermore, L exists in two different configurations in the [{LMo(CO)4}2] and the monomeric derivatives. Electronic spectral data are discussed in terms of the effect of the π-acceptor tendency of the Mo(4d)−L(π*) back bonding.31P n.m.r. and i.r. data of the phosphine-containing compounds indicate that the more electron-withdrawing substituents on the phosphines gave larger31P coordination chemical shifts and larger CO frequencies.
