TL;DR: Results from a search for the lepton flavor violating decays B0 and B_{s};{0} and the flavor-changing neutral-current decays are reported, and lower bounds on the Pati-Salam leptoquark masses are derived.
Abstract: We report results from a search for the lepton flavor violating decays $B^0_{(s)}\to e^+\mu^-$, and the flavor-changing neutral-current decays $B^0_{(s)} \to e^+ e^-$. The analysis uses data corresponding to ${\rm 2 fb^{-1}}$ of integrated luminosity of $p \bar{p}$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=1.96 {\rm TeV}$ collected with the upgraded Collider Detector (CDF II) at the Fermilab Tevatron. The observed number of $B^0_{(s)}$ candidates is consistent with background expectations. The resulting Bayesian upper limits on the branching ratios at 90% credibility level are $\mathcal{B}(B^0_s \to e^{+}\mu^{-}) 47.8 {\rm TeV/c^2}$, and ${M_{LQ}}(B^0\to e^+ \mu^-) > 59.3 {\rm TeV/c^2}$, at 90% credibility level.

TL;DR: In this paper, the dielectron and dimuon final states were used to measure the differential cross sections dσ/dϕ* and double-differential cross-sections d2σ /d ϕ*d|y| for inclusive Z boson production.
Abstract: Measurements of differential cross sections dσ/dϕ* and double-differential cross sections d2σ/dϕ*d|y| for inclusive Z boson production are presented using the dielectron and dimuon final states. The kinematic observable ϕ* correlates with the dilepton transverse momentum but has better resolution, and y is the dilepton rapidity. The analysis is based on data collected with the CMS experiment at a centre-of-mass energy of 8 TeV corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 fb−1. The normalised cross section (1/σ) dσ/dϕ*, within the fiducial kinematic region, is measured with a precision of better than 0.5% for ϕ* < 1. The measurements are compared to theoretical predictions and they agree, typically, within few percent.

TL;DR: In this article, a search for phenomena beyond the standard model in final states with two oppositely charged same-flavor leptons and missing transverse momentum is presented, using a data sample of proton-proton collisions at 13 TeV.
Abstract: A search for phenomena beyond the standard model in final states with two oppositely charged same-flavor leptons and missing transverse momentum is presented. The search uses a data sample of proton-proton collisions at $ \sqrt{s} $ = 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 137 fb$^{−1}$, collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC. Three potential signatures of physics beyond the standard model are explored: an excess of events with a lepton pair, whose invariant mass is consistent with the Z boson mass; a kinematic edge in the invariant mass distribution of the lepton pair; and the nonresonant production of two leptons. The observed event yields are consistent with those expected from standard model backgrounds. The results of the first search allow the exclusion of gluino masses up to 1870 GeV, as well as chargino (neutralino) masses up to 750 (800) GeV, while those of the searches for the other two signatures allow the exclusion of light-flavor (bottom) squark masses up to 1800 (1600) GeV and slepton masses up to 700 GeV, respectively, at 95% confidence level within certain supersymmetry scenarios.[graphic not available: see fulltext]
