TL;DR: In this paper, the authors look into the nature of international collaboration in patenting, specially, the contributions by scientists from India and indicate the pattern of collaboration while patenting in India, particularly reflecting upon the case of CSIR (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research).
Abstract: There are very few studies on collaboration in patenting in India. The understanding of collaboration in patenting is important for R&D (Research & Development) managers in order to effectively organize R&D teams and distribute the benefits that may result from such collaborations. The paper looks into the nature of international collaboration in patenting, specially, the contributions by scientists from India. It also indicates the pattern of collaboration while patenting in India, particularly, reflecting upon the case of CSIR (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research). It shows that there is significant amount of contribution by inventors from India in collaboration with inventors from other countries in patenting. There is a gradual decline in individual inventor patents from India. The contribution by teams of three inventors is maximum. The R&D managers should take initiatives to manage collaborations among individual researchers - bringing them together, creating healthy relationships among them and improving the work environment by minimizing and resolving the bottlenecks during collaboration.

TL;DR: The use of various devices enunciated in Colon Classification to sharpen any isolate idea, especially when a new subject enters into the universe of subjects is presented.
Abstract: This paper presents the use of various devices enunciated in Colon Classification (CC) to sharpen any isolate idea, especially when a new subject enters into the universe of subjects. Discusses their helpfulness in the automatic classification system, the Viswamitra, designed using Artificial Intelligence techniques with the help of PROLOG language. Discusses the procedure of building numbers for compound isolates using superimposition devices, alphabetical devices, geographic devices etc. Some suggestions are also made to rethink about the rule for alphabetical devices. For example, the system suggests to pick up the first three letters of a single worded term, first two letters from each word of a binomial term and the first letter from each word of a multinomial term to build isolate number using alphabetical device. Suggests some modifications in Colon Classification so that the concept of Analytico Synthetic Classification is used elaborately for information retrieval in the age of ontology.

TL;DR: In this paper, document protection is discussed, which is to be wrapped in a secure cryptographic envelope with the help of MD5 and Hash Functions as well as Digital Signature Techniques.
Abstract: Digital libraries provide mechanism for the distribution of electronic documents. The tasks of a digital library are not limited to establishing a secure communication channel, but extended to the protection of electronic documents even after the transfer. The solutions proposed in this area are based on the use of cryptographically secured containers. Therefore, the requirements are some mechanisms to ensure the security of documents (classified as well as non-classified) which can be distributed among end-users having varied requirements. The scope of this paper is not only limited to a particular library, but it will prove beneficial to all the libraries, because, unless its usability can be realized everywhere, the very existence of such a concept will be crippled. In this paper, document protection is discussed, which is to be wrapped in a secure cryptographic envelope with the help of MD5 and Hash Functions as well as Digital Signature Techniques.

TL;DR: In this paper, a value chain distinguishing the structure of production for print and electronic medium is drawn for identifying the different costs associated in different stages, and a differentiation with a cost strategy for e-journal industry for achieving optimum benefits for different stakeholders involved in the process, viz, information providers, information managers and information seekers.
Abstract: Even as the society marches into a digital age, libraries and information centres have assumed greater responsibilities for meeting the diverse needs of its user community The new technologies have largely aided in designing value-added library services The emerging digital libraries are redefining the way by which user demands are being fulfilled Among other resources, electronic journals occupy a prominent place in digital libraries, by providing access to 'online full-text information' While historically, print journals have played an important role in information dissemination, the spiraling costs of the same have forced both 'information providing' and 'information seeking' community to look for cost-effective and reliable means of information dissemination The present paper, while studying the importance of print and electronic journals in information dissemination, applies the concept of value chain analysis for obtaining a longitudinal understanding in terms of costs of production and cost drivers associated with it Accordingly, a value chain distinguishing the structure of production for print and electronic medium is drawn for identifying the different costs associated in different stages Further, the papers proceeds to illustrate the competitive position of e-journal industry in terms of different structural cost drivers and put forward a differentiation with a cost strategy for e-journal industry for achieving optimum benefits for different stakeholders involved in the process, viz, information providers, information managers and information seekers
