Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article , the seasonal riverine MgSr isotope pattern in the middle Yellow River was systematically investigated based upon weekly collected samples for the whole year of 2013, and the results demonstrated that Mg is mainly transported in the dissolved form (65%) in this river system and that 45% of the total dissolved Mg was transported during the monsoon seasons, with 2% exported over 4 days during a single storm event.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article , the authors analyzed stable isotope compositions of 27 basalts from geochemically and geologically diverse mid-ocean ridge segments, to constrain the Sn isotope composition of the depleted mantle source.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article , a combination of U-isotope and elemental concentration datasets for the Furlo sedimentary section in Marche-Umbria, Italy was used to examine black shales deposited before and during Oceanic Anoxic Event 2 (OAE 2), which was one of the most extreme climatic perturbations of the Mesozoic Era that took place around the Cenomanian-Turonian boundary (Late Cretaceous, c. 94 Ma).

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article , the first evidence of reactive phosphorus (P) in a fulgurite which has been experimentally generated under controlled conditions from natural apatite was presented, which supported the speculation that frequent lightning activity under early Earth conditions may have provided more than 10.000 kg/yr of reactive P on early Earth through the generation of reactive p-bearing fulgurites.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article , a detailed study of the Leigongshan (LGS) tonalite pluton in the eastern section of the North Qilian suture zone (NQSZ) is presented.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article , the authors focus on the low-temperature mineralogical response of xenotime, a phosphate mineral routinely used as a geochronometer, to fluid-assisted alteration.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper , the trace element abundances in zircon along with low Ti-in-zircon temperatures reveal that the GPC microgranite porphyry magma was more evolved than GPC granite and granodiorite.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors investigated Nitrogen partitioning between its main hosts using partly devolatilized natural quartz-muscovite-chlorite schist (mica schist), with NH4+-rich muscovites, under conditions corresponding to hot subduction: 3.0-7.8 GPa, 750-1090 °C, and oxygen fugacity (fO2) about the NNO buffer.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper , the glassy pools in highly crystallized basaltic-andesite and trachybasalt samples obtained from isothermal crystallization experiment at different shear rates were collected at room temperature.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article , the authors explore how different etching sequences, track selection approaches, and analytical methods influence track length and density measurements, and propose a two-step etching procedure that may provide more plentiful and reproducible data by reducing the impact of human decision-making.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper , the steady state release rates of major elements from a suite of altered basalts have been measured at pH 3, 120 °C, and far from equilibrium conditions, and the results indicate that altered basalt formations can provide sufficient divalent cations for subsurface carbon mineralization.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors reported the first radiogenic isotope data (Sr, Nd, Pb and Hf) for lavas of Lord Howe Island (LHI) in the Tasman Sea, the most prominent subaerial expression of the hypothesised Lord Howe mantle plume.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper , a combination of Simultaneous Thermal Analysis (STA), which involves Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), Thermal Gravimetry Analysis (TGA), and Evolved Gas Analysis conducted by Mass Spectrometry (EGA-MS), enable a reconstruction of the volatile distributions and compositions (H2O, CO2, and SO2) of these samples.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article , the authors examined the plio-pleistocene evaporitic lacustrine succession in the Qaidam Basin, which was recovered by drill core SG-1, providing the material for understanding the maturation of dolomite.
