TL;DR: It is indicated that salvianolic acid B has an effect of exten-uating myocardial cells injury during ischemia-reperfusion in some extent through inhibiting the activation of NF-κB and decreasing the expression of TNF-α followed with re-ducing neutrophils infiltration in damaged myocardIAL tissues.
Abstract: [Objective]To investigate the effects of salvianolic acid B (SA-B) on the activity of nuclear transfer of nuclear factor -κB p65 (NF-κB p65) in myocardial cells and the expression of tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) during ischemia-reperfusion in rabbit models. [Methods]Thirty-two anesthetized New Zealand white rabbits were randomly divided into four groups: sham operation group, ischemia-reperfusion group, low dose SA-B treatment group and high dose SA-B treatment group. For sham operation group, the animals were not subjected to occlusion of LAD. Rabbits in ischemia-reperfusion group and SA-B treatment group underwent 0.5 hour of LAD occlusion followed by 4 hours of reperfusion. After LAD ligation rabbits in low and high dose SA-B treatment groups were im-mediately intravenously administered with low and high dose SA-B respectively, while rabbits of other two groups were given 0.9% sodium chloride in the same manner. Myocardial tissues from different groups were collected 4 hours after reperfusion. The amount of NF-κB p65 protein in nucleus of cardiomyocyte and the expression level of TNF-α in myocardial tissues were determined by western blot analysis and enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), respectively. The activities of the myocardial myeloperoxidase (MPO) were detected by biochemical tech-niques. [Results]A higher amount of NF-κB p65 was observed translocated in cardiomyocyte nucleus in ischemia-reperfusion group than in sham operation group (P0.01). The expression levels of TNF-α and the activity of MPO were both significantly increased in ischemia-reperfusion group compared with sham operation group (P 0.01). Compared with ischemia-reperfusion group, the expressions of TNF-α were reduced in a dose-dependent manner in low and high dose SA-B treated groups (P0.05 or P0.01), as well as the amount of NF-κB p65 in nucleus and the MPO activity (P0.05 or P0.01). [Conclusion]The results indicated that salvianolic acid B has an effect of exten-uating myocardial cells injury during ischemia-reperfusion in some extent. This potential pharmacological action may be achieved through inhibiting the activation of NF-κB and decreasing the expression of TNF-α followed with re-ducing neutrophils infiltration in damaged myocardial tissues.

TL;DR: AMPA receptor shows the trigger action in the hippocampal learning-dependent LTP as measured in hippocampal dentate gyrus during the period of establishment and extinction of the conditioned reflex in free-moving conscious rats.
Abstract: 【Objective】To investigate the neurochemical mechanisms responsible for learning dependent longterm potentiation(LTP),the effect of MK-801 on extracellular levels of Glutamate(Glu) was measured in hippocampal dentate gyrus(DG) region during the period of establishment and extinction of the conditioned reflex in freemoving conscious rats.【Methods】The concentration of glutamate(Glu) was measured by microdialysis and highperformance liquid chromatography(HPLC) methods and MK-801 was administrated by local-microinjection.The population spike(PS),a parameter of LTP,and conditioned reflex were examined by implanted electrodes and combining electrophysiological-behavioral methods.【Results】The extracellular levels of Glu in the DG region were significantly reduced by local-microinjection of MK-801(60 nmol/L) without training(P 0.05).In the control group 2 and experiment group 2,the extracellular levels of Glu(P 0.001) in the DG region were significantly increased during the establishment of conditioned reflex and gradually returned following the extinction of conditioned reflex. The changes of Glu were correlated to the change of PS and both changes roughly follow the correct rate of behavior.Nevertheless, the changes of Glu and PS were significantly attenuated by local-microinjection of MK-801,as well as the establishment of conditional response was significantly inhibited by MK-801.【Conclusion】NMDA receptor participates in the Glu-associated learning-dependent LTP in hippocampus DG region,it may be partly dependent on modulation of presynaptic release of Glu.

TL;DR: In this article, the Raman peak of gastric cancer patients was found to be higher than that of the normal (P 0.01) at wavelength of 585 nm, 633 nm and 656 nm.
Abstract: 【Objective】 To study laser resonance Raman spectroscopy application in gastric cancer. 【Methods】 The specimens as follows were collected: the serum preoperation, post-operation for three days of gastric cancer patients, nomal controls, the culture medium of SGC7901 gastric cancer cells cultured for 24, 48 and 72 hours and 1640 culture medium. 【Results】At wavelength of 585 nm, 633 nm, 656 nm, 674 nm, 707 nm, 772 nm, 776 nm and 798 nm,the Raman peak of gastric cancer patients was higher than that of the normal (P 0.01). Study of the Raman spectrum of gastric cancer patients preoperation and post-operation for three days shows that the Raman peak of post-operation group was obviously lower than the Raman peak of pre-operation group. The numerical value of the P was 0.05 and the statistical difference is significant. From Raman spectroscopic study of the culture medium, the Raman peak repeatability at 585 nm, 633 nm, 656 nm, 674 nm, 707 nm, 772 nm, 776 nm and 798 nm could be found. But the Raman peaks at 633 nm, 656 nm and 674 nm can only be found in the culture medium of gastric cancer cells. The Raman peak was positively correlated with the culture time. 【Conclusions】 The Raman peak of gastric cancer patients was higher than that of the normal. The Raman peak of post-operation group was obviously lower than the Raman peak of pre-operation group. The technique Raman spectrum can reflect the differences of the spectrums. It is considered effctive for the screening of gastric cancer, the monitoring of prognosis and the judgment of therapeutic effect. The differences of the spectrums between the culture medium of gastric cancer cells and 1640 medium are significant. The Raman spectrum of culture medium of gastric cancer cells rises as time goes by.

TL;DR: To dissimilate knowledge related to STD among the public, and to modify the care-seeking behavior of STD outpatients are of key importance for controlling and treatment of STD/HIV infection.
Abstract: 【Objective】To explore the occurrence of delay of health-seeking and its related factors of sexually transmitted diseases (STD) outpatients. 【Methods】200 consecutive STD outpatients who attended the clinic of a general hospital were investigated using a self-designed questionnaire, which included background information, STD related knowledge and health-seeking behaviors. Delay of health-seeking was defined as delayed seven and more days from the day of onset. 【Results】Among 200 STD outpatients, 130 cases (65.0%) had delay of health-seeking. The median days of health-seeking delay were 24 (P25=8 days, P75=64.5 days). Major factors related to delay of health-seeking were the history of STD, the self-attribution of STD symptoms and the level of knowledge related to STD. 【Conclusion】Delay of health-seeking is common among the STD outpatients. To dissimilate knowledge related to STD among the public, and to modify the care-seeking behavior of STD outpatients are of key importance for controlling and treatment of STD/HIV infection.
