TL;DR: The experimental results show that the proposed IoT-BIF method reduces the cost, memory utilization, average running time compared to other popular methods.
Abstract: The internet of things (IoT) is a modern generation of internet-associated embedded information and communication technology in an online environment to incorporate logistics and supply chain processes seamlessly. Automation in inventory monitoring, product control, storage, customer relationships, fleet tracking, etc. is a common issue faced by firms suggesting alternatives to the various problems. In this study, IoT-assisted bio-inspired framework (IoT-BIF) has been proposed for effective logistics management and supply chain processes. IoT with bio-inspired model sensors can track products via different supply chain units to address under-stocking and over-stocking issues. This modern technology allows the connection of numerous objects by gathering real-time data and sharing it; the resulting data can help automated decision-making in industries. The experimental results show that the proposed IoT-BIF method reduces the cost, memory utilization, average running time compared to other popular methods.

TL;DR: In this article, the role of strategic and operational information sharing between buyers and suppliers in promoting ambidextrous learning is discussed, and it is shown that sharing operational information promotes exploitative performance, while sharing strategic information promotes exploratory performance.
Abstract: Achieving competitive advantage in a dynamic environment requires firms to exploit their current capabilities and explore new opportunities through innovation. Organizational learning theory refers to these two types of focused learning activities as exploitation and exploration, and jointly as ambidextrous learning. Suppliers can play an important role in the learning process. This research focuses on the role of strategic and operational information sharing between buyers and suppliers in promoting ambidextrous learning. Based on a survey of supply chain managers in U.S. manufacturing firms, the findings indicate that sharing operational information promotes exploitative performance, while sharing strategic information promotes exploratory performance. Both exploitative and exploratory performance improvements positively relate to the buyer’s financial performance, but these relationships are moderated by the buyer’s product innovation strategy. Exploratory performance is particularly important for firms pursuing a high innovation strategy to maximize financial performance.

TL;DR: In this paper , a literature review and Kano analysis for requirements prioritisation of short food supply chain digital platforms is presented, and the results show that the requirements span across the four Kano categories, attractive quality encompassing the largest number of requirements.
Abstract: Perceptions towards unsustainable supply chain practices in global, mainstream food systems are motivating a shift towards short food supply chains. Short food supply chains are developed to remove the physical and social distances between producer and consumer. Advances in digital technologies offer promise for short food supply chains, including platforms that can enable real-time data flow, create visibility, and support sustainable practices. This research aims to prioritise attractive quality requirements of short food supply chain digital platforms. The methodology consists of a literature review and Kano analysis for requirements prioritisation. The results show that the requirements span across the four Kano categories, attractive quality encompassing the largest number of requirements. The attractive quality requirements identified offer increased levels of satisfaction when present and have limited negative impact when missing. Therefore, they are considered exciting for potential users of a system. The limitations of the research and areas of future work are presented.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a signal game model for a two-stage supply chain with two suppliers and two manufacturers, and analyzed the impact of the digital twin platform on the profits of the local industrial symbiosis network.
Abstract: Digital twins provide a solution for information-sharing between enterprises, thereby alleviating uncertainties in the supply chain. In light of the public crisis caused by COVID-19, the authors suggest a signal game model for a two-stage supply chain with two suppliers and two manufacturers. Based on the model, the impact of the digital twin platform on the profits of the local industrial symbiosis network is analyzed. The results show that the uncertainty of supply and demand caused by the public crisis has led to fluctuations in profits and profit volatility. Under this influence, suppliers are willing to participate in information sharing on the digital twin platform, but manufacturers are less willing to participate. Moreover, application of the digital twin platform in information sharing is conducive to maintaining and promoting the smooth operation of the industrial chain under these conditions of uncertainty. TL;DR: In this paper , the authors investigated the antecedents and consequences of green supply chain management in the post-COVID-19 era, and proposed a novel explanation by linking various actors of Green Supply Chain Management and how the interplay of those actors can influence the supply chain and overall firm performance.
Abstract: For the last few decades, the business practices have primarily been focusing on the green and sustainable practices that mainly focus on the preservation of the environment and correspond to corporate social responsibility. But the sudden outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has left unprecedented effects on the business world. Against this backdrop, the current study entails investigation of the antecedents and consequences of green supply chain management in the post-COVID-19 era. The term black swan stands true for the event. The term could be believed to be accurate as all aspects of the supply chain have been observed to be influenced by the swan (customers with panic/regulated buying, suppliers with hoarding, inventories witnessing bullwhip effects). The current study, therefore, offers a novel explanation by linking various actors of green supply chain management and how the interplay of those actors can influence the supply chain and overall firm performance post COVID-19.

TL;DR: In this paper , an optimal productivity model that evaluates the supply chain efficiency and effectiveness management is presented. But, the authors focus on strategic thinking and planning, where various process improvement mechanisms are developed.
Abstract: The optimal productivity model plays a significant role in various supply chain management (SCM) decision support systems. Therefore, the precision of the optimal productivity model is necessary to improve SCM's effectiveness. A factor often ignored is that transactions of certain goods are assembled within an enterprise as dynamic structures of various distribution ratios. Regardless of such structure, optimal model productivity is often produced; however, the productivity model's optimal precision can be enhanced by taking it into account. This focusses on strategic thinking and planning, where various process improvement mechanisms are developed. Therefore, in this study, data envelopment analysis (DEA) has been utilized to enhance supply chain efficiency and effectiveness management. This paper explores an optimal productivity model that evaluates the supply chain efficiency and effectiveness management. This paper discusses the policy preparation demands of the decision support systems and develops a framework that organisations can use to control the implementation process.

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors proposed the swarm intelligence modeling-based logistic analytics management (SIMLAM) in service supply chain market, which is a generalized structure for swarm intelligence implementation in supply chain management.
Abstract: Supply chain management has become increasingly important as an academic subject due to globalization developments contributing to massive production-related benefits reallocation. The huge volume of data produced in the global economy means that new tools must be created to manage and evaluate the data and measure organizational performance worldwide. Smart technologies such as swarm intelligence and big data analytics can help get clear data of the location, condition, and environment of products and processes at any time, anywhere to make smart decisions and take corrective schedules that the supply chain can run more effectively. This study proposes the swarm intelligence modeling-based logistic analytics management (SIMLAM) in service supply chain market. A generalized structure for swarm intelligence implementation in supply chain management is suggested, which is advantageous to industry practitioners. Different deterministic methods practically fail due to the intrinsic computational complexity of the problem of higher dimensions.

TL;DR: In this article , an intelligent decision-making support system for the supply chain's proactive capacity planning under uncertain conditions is designed with reinforcement learning (RL) to validate the conceptual framework.
Abstract: The management of global supply chains that emerge from outsourcing and offshoring activities emphasizes a globally dispersed supply chain. All stakeholders and entrepreneurs worldwide have a common understanding of information technology's importance to support business activity in a rapidly changing era of customer preference. Today, many believe in a production process transition, which subsequently affects the supply chain flow in general, fearing overuse and inefficiency from upstream to downstream. Thus, this article proposes supply chain efficiency and effectiveness management using decision support systems (SCE2M-DSS). This conceptual framework uses an intelligent decision support system for the supply chain's proactive capacity planning under uncertain conditions. An intelligent decision-making support system is designed with reinforcement learning (RL) to validate the conceptual framework. The application of decision-making methods developed initially focused on product development and service production.

TL;DR: In this article , an attempt has been made to mitigate the impact of the bullwhip effect using a premium payment scheme, which has been coined that will help in reducing the effect of the effect.
Abstract: Bullwhip effect reduces the efficiency, responsiveness, and value of the supply chain. There are some indirect causes like lead time, the number of echelons, and some direct causes of bullwhip effect such as rationing or price variation. Due to capacity constraints, retailers are forced to experience rationing of their demands. Fear of rationing usually gives rise to manipulable demand and hence increases the bullwhip effect. Moreover, if the retailer’s demand is price sensitive then it will cause price variation. The offerings of premium payment by retailers due to unfulfilled demand lure the supplier to extend his existing capacity and to allocate them more supply. In this paper, an attempt has been made to mitigate the impact of the bullwhip effect using a premium payment scheme. A technique has been coined that will help in reducing the bullwhip effect. The increased value of the supply chain on using a premium payment scheme is proof of the reduction of the bullwhip effect. Results are validated through numerical analysis.

TL;DR: In this article , a mathematical model in the form of a piecewise objective probabilistic optimization approach was proposed as the new decision-making tool to solve supplier selection and inventory management problems.
Abstract: A mathematical model in the form of a piecewise objective probabilistic optimization approach was proposed in this study as the new decision-making tool to solve supplier selection and inventory management problems. The focus was on price discount and uncertain parameters such as product demand, product defect rate, and late-delivery product rate, which were approached using random variables with some known probability distribution function. Meanwhile, the decision variables contained in the model include the product volume ordered by each supplier at each time for each product type and those stored in the inventory to minimize the total operational cost in the problem. The corresponding optimization problem was solved using a probabilistic programming algorithm via the LINGO optimization tool. The computational simulation showed the proposed model provided the optimal decision, and this means it can be used as a decision-making tool by industrial practitioners.

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors aim to help the information review systemically manage consumer relationships in institutional and cultural aspects of the logistic management (ICA-LM) model by integrating the neural network and the class label.
Abstract: Electronic business relies heatedly on a predictive tool to provide consumers with the products online in a brief moment. E-commerce activities are handled by many buyers globally compared to conventional distribution, and with a broader range of products but a limited amount. This article aims to help the information review systemically manage consumer relationships in institutional and cultural aspects of the logistic management (ICA-LM) model. In preparation for the ICA-LM to be adequate to discuss static and dynamic attributes for removing precious secret information, the neural network and the class label are integrated. In this way, real-life client needs are defined and potential clients listed with limited time to generate client relationship maintenance (CRM) feedback for clients. The research in Hong Kong, a transportation management firm prototype, shows and validates CRM information gathering in the developing e-commerce logistics sector in the actual world.

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors evaluate the impact of brand spillover, platform spillover and offline experience spillover effects on the optimal choice to open showrooms and find that the conditions of brand owners opening showrooms for win-win are richer and more relaxed than the e-tailer.
Abstract: The consumption experience is taken seriously by consumers, and increasingly, firms open offline showrooms for this. Showrooms can help to resolve the uncertainty of consumer perceived value and brand preference in online shopping. This paper considers two kinds of showroom investment scenarios for a two-echelon supply chain consisting of a brand owner and e-tailer. The two scenarios are the brand owner opening showrooms (B) or e-tailer opening (E). the authors evaluate the impact of brand spillover, platform spillover, and offline experience spillover effects on the optimal choice to open showrooms. The results indicate that the conditions of brand owners opening showrooms for win-win are richer and more relaxed than the e-tailer. This requirement for spillovers reflects different motivations for opening showrooms. Moreover, regarding the inroad into showrooms, the brand owner and e-tailer should be cognizant of the trade-off between brand and platform spillover and willing to open showrooms in appropriate conditions.

TL;DR: In this article , a multi-objective method to plan the preparation of multi-criteria software solutions for distributed systems using the fuzzy TOPSIS tool as a comprehensive guide to multicriteria management is proposed.
Abstract: There are many interdependent computers available in distributed networks. In such schemes, overall ownership costs comprise facilities, such as computers, controls, etc.; buying hardware; and running expenses such as wages, electrical charges, etc. Strom use is a large part of operating expenses. AI-assisted dynamic modelling for data management (AI-DM) framework is proposed. The high percentage of power use is connected explicitly to inadequate planning of energy. This research suggests creating a multi-objective method to plan the preparation of multi-criteria software solutions for distributed systems using the fuzzy TOPSIS tool as a comprehensive guide to multi-criteria management. The execution results demonstrate that this strategy could then sacrifice requirements by weight.

TL;DR: In this article , an inventory optimization model for multi-generational products under the trade credits and the credit-linked and innovation diffusion dependent demand is proposed, and the sensitivity analysis with the cost of credit and the trade credit period is performed.
Abstract: In this age of digitalization, when every industry is undergoing technological disruption, there is a big role of digital gadgets and technology products. A key feature of these digital gadgets is the short length of the product life cycle, since the newer and more advanced generations of technologies are developed regularly to replace the earlier conventional technologies. The traditional EOQ models that assume a constant demand cannot be used here. This research paper formulates an inventory optimization model for the multi-generational products under the trade credits and the credit-linked and innovation diffusion dependent demand. The study also performs a numerical illustration of the proposed model, and establishes important dynamics among the key variables. It also performs the sensitivity analysis with the cost of credit and the trade credit period. The paper concludes with the managerial implications for the inventory practitioners and the possible areas of extension for this research in the future.
