TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of ground granulated blast-furnace slag and alkaline activator on the properties of setting, compressive strength, drying shrinkage and resistance of carbonation was assessed to develop high volume slag concrete, the GGBS replacement rate of which was more than 80 percent.
Abstract: The effect of ground granulated blast-furnace slag (GGBS) and alkaline activator on the properties of setting, compressive strength, drying shrinkage and resistance of carbonation was assessed to develop high volume slag concrete, the GGBS replacement rate of which was more than 80 percent. The changes in the concrete as the replacement rate of GGBS increases were as follows. Initial and final setting time was delayed by two and a half hours, and the compressive strength development properties of concrete in early and long term age were decreased. Drying shrinkage was satisfactory as below in every mixture, and yet showed a tangible trend by replacement rate. Carbonation was materially increased. Setting time and early strength development property, however, were extremely advanced by the addition of the alkaline activator. While drying shrinkage was improved by the alkaline activator, resistance to carbonation was not.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed in-situ production analysis of composite precast concrete members of Green Frame with the evaluation of structural safety and available area on the parking structure.
Abstract: Recently, there have been many cases in which the difficulty of repair and replacement of principal elements in the bearing wall structure for apartment buildings, which is a major part of apartment buildings in Korea, has led to the reconstruction of buildings rather than their remodeling. To address this problem, the Korea government now allows a floor area ratio of up to 20 %, and has relaxed the building height limits to encourage the use of a rahmen structure instead of a bearing wall structure. However, since reinforced concrete rahmen structures have many problems, including higher floor height and greater construction cost, a great deal of research into rahmen composite precast concrete structures have been conducted. Green Frame, one of the developed prototypes, is expected to provide economic benefits through in-situ production for precast concrete column and beam. For in-situ production of composite precast concrete members, a detailed plan for production, curing, and installation is needed. However, it needs to be confirmed that the space is sufficient to produce the precast concrete members on site before planning those activities. Therefore, this study proposes in-situ production analysis of composite precast concrete members of Green Frame with the evaluation of structural safety and available area on the parking structure. The result of this study shows that the in-situ production of precast concrete members is possible through a case study.

The early strength development property, however, is extremely advanced by addition of the alkali activator, which is also found to improve resistance chloride attack and freezing-thawing.

TL;DR: Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) is introduced to provide ideal process and required decision making governance and will provide insights for a BIM-based collaborative environment to enhance the constructability through the construction project.
Abstract: One of reasons for introducing Building Information Modeling (BIM) is to support clash detection tasks by means of a 3D product model. In the conventional construction project process, clashes have been found during construction phase. However, it can cause cost overrun and time delay. In order to investigate and correct clash detections at design phase, relevant business process and guide for this task should be provided. This study aims to identify hindrances in clash detection tasks at the design phase and analyze its current process using IDEF0 model. Despite the convenience of IDEF0 as a systems analysis tool, professional participants might have difficulties to understand their own tasks according to business process. For this reason, in this research, Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) is introduced to provide ideal process and required decision making governance. The provide BPMN model will provide insights for a BIM-based collaborative environment to enhance the constructability through the construction project.
