Abstract: The single factor water quality identification index,which is a new tool for single water quality factor assessment of surface water,is presented.The characteristics of single factor water quality identification index are:Firstly,it can completely identify the important information including water quality classification of assessed factors,water quality monitoring data,planned water quality classification of water environment function area;secondly,it can evaluate the selected factors qualitatively by national water quality standards,and water quality monitoring data;thirdly,it can be used to compare water quality of the same assessed factors in the same classification and water quality of different assessed factors.

Abstract: 267 corroded steel bars were obtained in three ways: 156 from labs corroded by impressing direct current to them;35 from autdoors corroded nakedly in the natural environment;76 from old concrete components in existing buildings.Through tensile tests,the mechanical behaviors of these corroded steel bars were studied.It was concluded that the yield strength,the ultimate strength and the ultimate strain of the steel bars deteriorated,and the yield plateau of the steel bar became shorter or even disappeared with the development of the corrosion.In the meantime,correlated data of corroded steel bars were acquired and corresponding database was set up.Based on statistic analysis of the data,regression equations of the characteristic values reflecting mechanical properties of corroded steel bars were established,and an attempt was also made to construct the mathematical models of stress-strain relationship for corroded steel bars in different environment conditions.

Abstract: Based on the single factor water quality identification index,the comprehensive water quality identification index,which is a new tool for general water quality assessment of surface water,is presented.The comprehensive water quality identification index can fully depict the general water quality of surface water,and its characteristics are listed as follows.Firstly,it can evaluate general water quality both qualitatively and quantitatively; secondly,it assesses general water quality by a group of typical assessing items instead of deciding by the worst assessing item,so the assessment of general water quality is reasonable; thirdly,it can be used to compare general water quality of different stations of the same river and different rivers,and it can also be used to compare general water quality with the same classification of classes Ⅰ~Ⅴand the class worse than classⅤ.Nowadays the comprehensive water quality identification index has been applied in evaluating the general water quality of Shanghai's rivers,and very convincing conclusions have been drawn.In addition,the criterion for river's blackness and stink is ascertained.

Abstract: The complete stress-strain curves of recycled aggregate concrete with different recycled coarse aggregate replacement percentages were tested and investigated. An analysis was made of the influence of varying recycled coarse aggregate contents on the complete stress-strain curve,peak stress,peak strain,elastic modulus and compressive strength etc.The test results show that the stress-strain curves of recycled aggregate concrete are similar to those of the conventional concrete.Whereas for the recycled aggregate concrete,the ratios of the prism compressive strength to the cube compressive strength and the peak strain are higher but the elastic modulus is lower than those of the conventional concrete.Finally,equations are proposed for the complete stress-strain curve of recycled aggregate concrete with different recycled coarse aggregate replacement percentages.

Abstract: Earthquake resilient structure is a new branch of the seismic structural design.The new structural system is not only capable of preventing from the structure failure so as to protect people's life safety during an earthquake,but also restoring immediately the structural function after an earthquake.A research was made of several kinds of resilient structures such as replaceable structure,rocking wall,rocking frame and self-centering structure.The paper presents a summary of the recent research on different kinds of resilient structures,and also a new replaceable technology for coupled shear wall,replaceable coupling beam and replaceable shear wall toe.
